out of everything the best is the new tall grass, hands down...that stuff is freaky to be moving thru with ei around.

the clutter annoys me because of the small radius it has. it actually distracts from the game.

overall there seems to be less cover but better cover for infantry than before, which I like. I also like the fact that the forests will be a death zone for tanks if they don't have support :)

but, the ability to see down thru the trees from the air seems wayyy too easy.

Don't like the way clutter is implemented AT ALL. If it's going to be compulsory then it needs to not continually pop up in front of players. Just having it fade in more gradually would be a big improvement.

Bushes, grass berms etc are all a massive improvement and I think will breathe a lot of fun into the inf game. Found it much harder to hit targets even in 'open' ground - unlike the one shot lazer snipe polygon moonscape we have currently.

The 'sticky' period after sprinting needs to be toned down.

Might even see inf working together as fireteams, who knows.

Inf revetments - pillboxes? If so, I don't think they'll get used that much tbh, given that a tiny sliver of ground will protect you as much as the foot thick 'concrete' of the pillbox will whilst also concealing you much better.

New buildings - on the whole very good, as far as the ones people will see day to day. Misaligned textures and normal map oddness on some 2d city replacements.

Factory buildings are still 2D.

The new arrangement and size of bush lines is a HUGE improvement. Much more realistic and gives the game a more open feel (like it had in the earlier years.) This will make msp hidding more challenging but should definately bring back armor/atg lovers to the game.

I'm noticing trees are no longer animated (no wind motion) - assuming this is already being reviewed since it been in the first few beta patches? same for grass?

One concern, it seems like each patch over the last few years the trees get shorter each time. Could just be the newer versions of speedtree or trying to match more realistic tree hights.. but I think back to the days of 1.14 with the really BIG trees compared to these and thought these new ones look a little small now.

Subject: Gettin stuck in objects.

Where Lent? I think. North end of town at the gas station near the huge oil tanks. There is a stack of tires next to the gas station that I climbed up on by lying prone. When I got to the top of the stack, I was immediately stuck.. could not get out had to despawn. On the despawn screen it showed that I was standing in middle of the tires, halfway submerged.

Lent: AI tower north end of town. Tried climbing up the tower, on the south side of the tower, where the brown wooden boxes are. got stuck between there and the supports for the tower.. on despwan it showed that I was standing in between the boxes and tower legs.

I LOVE the new buildings.

Note: In town it seems there are very long stretches of unenterable buildings. Especially in places where you really need them. I realize it is probably too late to do anything about them, but running down a street parallel to the buildings with ei around, looking for an opening of some kind is maddeningly tense :)

I am sure we only barely touched on all the added things in the game, but the little walls in the fields, along with the inf conforming to the terrain, really give a different feeling to open field fighting.

SALUTE! And cya in the skies,

The radial clutter look, feel, and color is gorgeous. Truly stellar and top-notch.

Very immersive, adds a whole new visual layer to the game.

My main problem is this:

If it's going to be compulsory then it needs to not continually pop up in front of players. Just having it fade in more gradually would be a big improvement.

Unlike the 1.30 clutter (which fades in smoothly, gradually, and equally along the entire edge of the radius), the new clutter instantly appears in large, apparently random chunks. It's not too bad, but it is noticeable.

I really don't like the new bushes; they're just too big. (I never liked the old bushes either for that matter) It's even tougher to spot the enemy now, and everything from trucks to tanks can fit perfectly inside a single bush. The new, more realistic lighting and terrain colors exacerbate this issue.

I'd prefer more open terrain with very very small bushes, too small for a human being to hide *INSIDE* of, let alone a truck.

i too dont like watching the radial clutter zone in as i run. the bushes and trees and logs look ok. would like to see some more low spots, hills, trenches and ditches. instead of flat with occasional bumps and depressions. towns look better. seemed a bit unrealistic though with all the bushes and grass in downtown. maybe some dirt roads? love the blood effects. the combat stance to me seems a bit too squatty. guy looks like hes ready to break wind at any moment. all in all the infantry fighting looked good aside from the bug that made everyone swim around and run at wicked angles, and the capture mechanic was nice. did notice the sound was kind of pingy and high pitched

I love the new berms and logs. Looks much more real and also usable for cover and concealment. Buildings are ok, but the terrain is really good!

* New infantry revetments

Very cool

* New Bushes and Grass fields

At first not so much but after a while I like them (thinking of cover) Kinda reminds when 3d bushes first came in and got reduced in size, because of tankers complaining that they couldn't see, going to happen again?

* New low clutter

Looks good, as long as everyone has them. Improved on display distance helps, when it was short it was kind of annoying.

* New buildings

very nice, I love how there is new features for the pop-up aim cover.

* New berms and stone wals and fallen logs

Nice touch finally some solid cover in open field. However I wish the pop-up aim would work better on these features.

.

Ehm i would guess the tankers own the field now again.

Just check any town .. there really isn't so much bushes around.

I love the new terrain, trees, grass etc. The manner by which radial clutter appears detracts from its aesthetic value however.

At first it kinda bugged me, but after a while I completely forgot about it.

The way the clutter quick-fades in annoys me. It seems, from eye level, that I have this 100m "circle of stuff" constantly drawing in in a perfect "circular" pattern. I would rather see it just gone, with the only clutter visible being that which EVERYONE sees. But that's just me...
