For MotorMouth: Question Many Beta Testers Are Asking

MM,

After doing some testing and reading the stickies/feedback, one gets the sense that if CRS is going to wait until ALL bugs are fixed with 1.31, we may be looking several months down the road until release. I realize you can't please everyone and that some will say, "don't release 1.31 until it's perfect," my question is whether CRS will release the new version minus any show stoppers while they track down annoying bugs that really don't affect gameplay?

Obviously, the vcache related issues are show stoppers as are others that will not allow some people to respawn, CTD's, connection issues, etc. However, will CRS delay the release of the build due to cockpit dials being misaligned, sound bugs, minor graphics glitches, etc still exist? I know it's too early to give an ETA for release, but it would be helpful to know what kind of criteria CRS will have to meet their release standards. Thanks.

We want to send this out as polished as possible.

Obviously the show stoppers will, well, stop the show. ;)

Stuff is being fixed fast and furious here. There will come a point when the big issues are worked out and we'll sit down and see where we stand. That usually involves a list of the remaining medium to low priority tickets. And that will be when the decision to "pull the trigger" comes. It's inevitable that some small issues might remain, but the fewer, the better.

But we're eager to get 1.31 into live release as quickly as we can. No one here is sitting on their hands. I've been playing in the beta and it is a wonder to behold, can't wait for it to go live.

some lower priority bugs can wait for 1.31.1.255 also and don't have to be in 1.31.0.255

Thanks for your quick reply. I did not intend to imply that you guys weren't busy as beavers, just wondering how the decision making process to release would play out. Thanks again.

I guess the no-frills answer would be "When we're confident a new player won't log in and go 'EWWWWW!'"

;)
