Would it be possible to set one town to have tall grass as the default terrain tile about 4km around the town?

Not the tall grass we have now but grass about half as high (enough that it covers a prone inf but would completely expose a crouched inf).

Would be interesting to see what effect that has on FPS as well as on combat.

I'd think the halfheight grass would be an excellent compromise for tank and inf warfare as tanks would be able to see each other in long ranges but can still use grass as visual cover... and infantry will have some form of visual cover against armor.

...and the fields of europe were not mowed 24/7 either ;)

Agreed here. It's worth a test at least. I'd love to push out the clutter much more, but we won't know how it will affect computers unless we do something like this.
