Can i set this somewhere in the game? Possible to add this feature?

Find some good calibration software and take care of your monitor outside the game.

You will be surprised how everything improves, from DVD playback to picture albums to the internet.

Take care of it once and never mess with it again.

If it was in-game, certain players would crank it to silly levels at night so that that they could cheat, so I doubt they'll ever put it in the game itself.

Much as Romzy's posting style can give me headaches (and the fact that he's "NEVAR WRONG!!")' date=' that post pretty much nails it on the head.[/quote']

Ya know, at first Romsburg, you rubbed me the wrong way and I wasn't a fan. But over the past 12 months, you have really grown on me. You're precise, well spoken and although you are sometimes a little harsh, you are most often correct and in proper context with your responses.

indeed he's one of the few voices of common sense on these forums

I can't say [any]thing else [than] that the ban was justified considering that you have an 'impressive' TOS history....
The only thing worse than being talked about is *not* being talked about.

This is a long and old story...

Time after time I see people talking about the game's "darkness" and I do get blasted everytime I say this, but I say it again, darkness kills WWIIOL... I prove it in mathemathical terms:

New player (A) just bought the game, likes it and then plays at night, he gets owned big time because he is blind, many opponents he faces are vets who boost their gamma, new player (A) asks/complains about the darkness and gets told OFF, if he doesnt like it bla bla bla, its his fault he should calibrate his monitor bla bla bla. So player (A) is unhappy and decides to not renew his sub and leaves for ever...

So now our math is Darkness - 1 & WWIIOL - 0

Very simply, darkness will NEVER EVER gain new customers, sure some twit will say "but I prefer night" or "I see fine at night WTF you talking about" and so on, but the truth remains that the more we allow edges to certain more geeky players, the less new players we will retain...

Even in this post bosting gamma is refered to as "cheating" and yet we fail to understand that cheaters always RUIN everyone else's fun...

Myself, I could boost my gamma, but I don't, I allow myself to suffer so I can appreciate the emptiness of our fields and I can be reminded to complain about the darkness none of us really appreciate...

My 2 cents...

Please give us the light,we want to see clearly in the virtual world. My game is perfect in normal campaign.

All settings are fine and the game looks dark in overcast skies.dawn and rainy days..

Please brighten the world.I do not have to close curtains, turn off lights and stare into the monitor to play.It is supposed to be an enjoyabe senario.

Please listen to the players.

Thank You

Notwithstanding one person's viewpoint, I also very much dislike the current brightness level of the 1.31.28 beta. It is much darker than the 1.30 and if that is what the developers intended, then they'll have to deal with the coming flood of complaints. The real issue here is not whether or not someone has an expensive monitor (Samsung 27" in my case) or an expensive video card (GTX 275 for me), or if they've calibrated them correctly (yes, in both the Win 7 program and NVIDIA color calibration programs, which BTW, neither makes the game satifactorily bright enough during the day much less the night), but how the playerbase will perceive things to be. If the vast majority believes it to be too dark, CRS will likely be forced to lighten things up. Our job is to merely report as players our own perceptions as the correct amount of light is a personal preference.

If CRS were forced to implement darkness as it appears in real life with different stages of the moon at night or clouds/rain during the day, as well as the seasonal affect of how high sun is in the sky, there would be periods of near pitch black night that would likely lead to either a great deal of players logging off or gamma levels being cranked up. Until the day comes where CRS can somehow control gamma levels on individual monitors, they'll be forced to strike a balance. IMHO, by keeping things too dark, anyone with any tech savvy will just up their gamma, with a great many programs that allow for gamma increases for individual programs. On the other hand, those without the knowledge will likely complain rather loudly first on the forums, then with their pocketbook by leaving the game.

With that logic aside, please do continue to feel free to go back to flaming each other. :D

We've already had one thread on this issue.

Give it some time for GOPHUR to review and comment please.

Very well said.

you could I suppose put the gamma slider in game as you mentioned, But Ill wager if the resistance, is strong enough against changing the lighting, its strong enough to prevent a gamma slider in game. I have given up trying to change anyones mind on this issue. If I cant see I will just go to the graphics card control and adjust in there. And yes I calibrated my monitor, romzburg.

The reason i think it is great is because in game, we have a full moon. The brightness matches what i remember night to be with a full moon.
