Please post specs + ingame settings (particularly resolution).

I run the same card with an enferior CPU - but I do no get the same drops anymore after the .39 build.

I run at 1280 x 960 resolution.

OK - I tried to replicate you screenshot exactly (see below).

It looks like we are both fillrate limited - my FPS goes down to 15 when zooming in. Assuming that we have the same graphics card it would seem that the difference lies in the resolution (your looks like it is higher than mine).

Again - I think we are talking fillrate limitation on the card here.

I run at 1280 x 960, highest in-game settings.

CPU: Athlon FX-57 @2,9 GHz

GPU: Nvidia 9600 GT

Memory: 2 GB Ram

OS: Windows XP 32 bit

Re run the tests with balanced and low settings. Your card cannot handle the shadows on grass at high settings (at LODs that would appear when you zoom in). This is not likely the same issue.

I ran the same test after clicking the performance tap and restarting the game.

Same test I go from 90 fps down to 13fps when zoomed in.

I'm at 1920x1200 rez which is what I have all ways run the game at.

Do you have AA and AF or any other card setting enabled either through the Nvidia control panel or Nhancer?

My secondary machine is a E6600 with an 8800GT and ever since .39 the massive FPS drop associated with optics and trees was resolved for me. But I have to run without AA and AF otherwise my FPS takes a big hit with all of those trees at my monitor's native res of 1900x1200.

AA would kill these trees I imagine.

I recreated this at dinant, mind you I'm running a Core2Duo 3.0GHz w/4GB ram and a 8800GT 512 @ 384 x 1024.

So less video card and WAY more resolution.

I'm going from 68fps to 24. So these trees still have some issue but your 8 fps should not be expected.
