WHHHYYY!!!!! this was an awesome feature to make up for the lack of mobility we should have. now we cant get onto roofs, cant climb up into the MG tower, etc...why would you do this??? these things added SOOO much flavor to the game, having peeps up on roofs, hiding in MG towers etc was COOL. what possible reason you could you have for removing this?

has anyone tried to climb the MG towers again? they arent vertical, but they are close. it would be cool if we could have a 'climb' animation (like in many FPSs like battlefield 2, etc) and ladders for MG towers, etc. Expedition to the alps anyone?

Yeah, that blows.

Was pretty cool being able to get onto the roof of certain buildings, AF hangars, etc.

Just another restriction on the red headed stepchild, the infantryman.

No more climbing the Riems Cathedral?

I have to admit that I hate to see this removed, I think climbing stuff was a lot of fun and allowed infantry to get into good spots like on roofs that would normally be accessible through windows and ladders in the real world(ie the interior of building that are often not fleshed out in the game). Now I guess it will be the sole reserve of paratroopers.

To my squad-all future climbing classes have been canceled ;-)

That blows! I loved climbing up some ruins. We can't get on building roofs anymore? Just lame. I'd trade climbing for ragdoll any day.

MOTORMOUTH

RAMP says it's due to some collider stuff that needed to be changed. It's a work in progress so some of what you're unable to climb in the beginning might change with subsequent patches.

Bet you'd complain if your plane couldn't climb.

Get out of the barracks.

Ya know, at first Romsburg, you rubbed me the wrong way and I wasn't a fan. But over the past 12 months, you have really grown on me. You're precise, well spoken and although you are sometimes a little harsh, you are most often correct and in proper context with your responses.

I can't say [any]thing else [than] that the ban was justified considering that you have an 'impressive' TOS history....

This seems to have had the side effect that you are now unable to get up into the church tower that has the ladders instead of the stairs. At least I couldn't figure out how to get up there.

wow, this is serious?

I'll still wait to pass judgment on 1.31 until a few weeks after release, but i'm not liking a whole bunch of things being done here. Something just doesn't seem right.

I don't know you MotorMouth, but i've seen some pics. Your statement could be taken both bad and good. Mostly good.

Thats fine, fix the collider stuff, bring back something like a climb command that will actually allow us to climb more things then we can now and its a good move. Otherwise your reducing another more play style, boxing the ground pounder into a tighter box.... or kill zone if you will.

Vertical buildings? wtf? Man, someone show me how to do that one. I mastered the near vertical ledges and the like but nothing like that.

The best guide to the future is history. Around here, if you look back, you can clearly see that a helluva lot of progress has been made. Progress sometimes includes minor backsteps to clear the way, but everything does get better and better.

So, my guess is there's a Plan and this is a Step.
