hi,

i took part in the stress test last night and was disappointed to see my fps drop down to the mid teens while in the centre of town when it was really busy which for me is unplayable. ive barely played BE in the last 6 months but i kept my sub runnin in anticipation for this new release but it looks like i may have to jump ship if last night was anything to go by.

this question goes to the devs as well. what kinda fps where you guys gettin and what kinda rigs are you usin to play BE?

heres my spec

core2duo 6750 (OC'd to 3200gmz)

geeforce gtx 260 1gb (also OC'd

4gb ram

win 7 64bit

as you can see, its not top of the line but it also isnt to shabby either.

i have a pretty clean system as well. only 40 processes runnin, no anti virus runnin, regular defrags etc.

should i be gettin performance outa this pc for BE?

Yes I have found FPS can be a little low.

I run on default settings on 1680 Res

Last night in Tilburg I was getting 25 - 30 which is ok but not great.

I have a good setup with I7 processor and GTX 260 with 6GB of Ram and W7 64 bit.

I have similiar setup (but no OC, too warm for it ATM here in finland :)) and FPS is 2-20 in town (tilburg), being mostly around 11 and below

Well thats interesting, i have almost the same rig as jaguar, except for a weaker graphics card and my FPS in Tilburg never dropped below 17 yesterday. Mostly it stayed around 25.

I didn't run on max settings though, vis limit was on medium and normal maps deactivated, as i had found out that this were the biggest performance drains for me.

Wonder if it has anything to do with Win7 because Weisse8 reported substantially higher frames with a similiar rig under Win XP.

My machine is nowhere near these but held pretty solid at 100fps in an empty area, at 20-25 in unkel until the weather and smoke hit, then had to turn the bodies off and set everything to minimum. And still only pulled about 5fps and couldn't see to save my life at night.

AMD 64x2 4200+ pushing 2.35 GHz

4GB RAM

nVidia GeForce 9500GT 1GB set to 1024x768

Realtek HD Audio (yeah I know onboard sucks but it works)

Win XP (and I know this needs upgrading too but im CHEAP) lol

But as long as I stay out of the dense areas and the bad weather the system manages.

i was runnin on max settings with 1920x1080 resolution. i exceed the recommended spec so was hopin to play with all eye candy on but not so it seems.

i would love to hear what rigs the devs run this on and what fps they get.

ive got a dual boot system so next time il try with xp and see how that goes. the oldest component i have is the cpu so that would be the next thing i would replace but when i read about people with I7 processors gettin similar poor performance i think whats the point.

I was getting around 20FPS. High was 25, low was around 12.

This was at 1900x1200 res, default graphics settings for beta.

Dual core intel 3ghz.

Geforce GTX260 (I think either 800 or 900mb of RAM

4 GB of RAM on vista 32 (so not using all of it).

soundblaster X-FI

FPS isnt everything. Its how the game handles it. It it ran smooth at 30 that is all your going to get. Didnt you guys read Doc's post (I think it was Doc)? He said 30 is going to be great, with all the tweaks they have done.

I wish i had that 30... i wish that 11 fps i get was constant, i wish there wasn't lag spikes and stuttering.

I also wish that I would be as rich as B. Gates.

(and that i had a life)

I run a core 2 duo E8500 3.0GHz, 4GB ram, nVidia 8800GT 512MB @ 3840 x 1024. I play with best performance and a few things turned on and I averaged ~30 fps in the big 200 player battles.

Max settings, especially the max shadow setting will kill any rig I've thrown at it.

Thats why i have them on medium setting ;).

On another note one definitely wants to deactivate corpses as they take a huge toll on frames after some time. Twenty of them cost me easily 10 fps if not more.

The grass shadows are a killer (high setting). Max vis limit will also kill you, no matter what rig you are running.

I run all setting on Max at 1920 X 1080. Only thing not on is the post render filter. Most the time I dont dip under 30fps in battle. Matter of fact 30fps is about normal unless I just look at a wall then it goes into 200+. But I dont even know what the game looks like or how it plays when it isnt maxed cause I have never had the need to lower anything. Course with my tax check I bought a nice pc. $1,300

Intel I7-860 2.8 turbo enabled with 4 cores + 4 virtual cores

8192MB DDR3 Dual-Channel 1333MHz

ATI Radeon HD5850

1.5TB 7200RPM SATA hard drive

Win7 64 bit

I turned shadows from high to low and now the FPS is between 60-90 fps while looking at terrain/trees in offline practice.

Very interesting how with shadows on medium or high it just self caps itself at ~30 FPS most of the time - certainly playable, and a consistent 30 FPS, but I like 60 better.

Running 1920x1080x32, everything maxed, 32xQ AA, 16x AF.

Q9550 quad @ 3.61 ghz, EVGA 780i FTW board, 4 GB GSkill ram @ 850 mhz, 2 x EVGA GTX 280 SSC's w/ 197.13 drivers on Win XP 32 bit.

Yeah we're really getting bottlenecked with the INF and VEH scenes. The guys are working on that next.

I'm getting a consistant 1 FPS.

At lowest possible settings.

:(

Getting to be clear as day that I just can't keep up with the development of this game any more.

AMD Turion 64 x 2 MT TL-60 2.00 GHz.

4 GB RAM

ATI Radeon X-1200 series

OH, wait. That was online, and I failed to note that 31.0..44 defaults to balanced. Best performance settings gets me up to 2-3 (and 14 if I look at the sky), offline.

I think I found the problem regarding my 30 FPS cap. It seems that it only does this with Vsycn on, it'll fluctuate around 60, then all the sudden lock itself at 30 for the majority of the time.

With Vsync off, it seems to be about 15-20 FPS higher in the same areas where it was capped at 30 with it on. Very interesting. Makes me think that my monitor is out of sync displaying the frames from my video card, bummer.

Kills me to hear ya say that Blu but yeah, that's not gonna cut the mustard anymore.

Don't know what help I can offer but I have a soft spot for us day ones. If you need some buying advice or anything drop me an email.
