joystick detection

the beta, online and offline, does not recognize any of my joysticks (saitek evo, saitek x45,

saitek x52 pro)..

i enabled "with joystick" in the keymapper, and tried redetecting the joystick to no avail..

all 3 sticks work fine in 1.30 on and offline, and i copied and pasted my cfml files to the beta folder..

the problem is.. when i press a button, or move the stick, nothing happens..

even in the keymapper, when i try to assign a button, it dosent detect that i'm pressing the button..

however.. my push to talk button (pinky switch) will register as the numpad *, which is what i have it assigned to in the saitek software..

i tried restarting the game, reinstalling the beta, and restarting my pc..

any ideas?

i'd like to fly in 1.31 seeing as thats about all i do in this game..

right now all i can do in the beta is run around as a squishy :/

2.7ghz amd athalon 64 x2 dual core

4 gig of ddr2

evga 9800gtx+ with latest nvidia drivers

xfx mobo with latest drivers

bfg 550w psu

2x 250gig hd's

win xp pro sp3

There are several threads on this with some answers but I don;t have them off the top of my head. For starters copying your .cfml files may be a bad idea.

i read through the threads, and they all seem to be problems with CH products, not saitek..

i'll try some of the tricks later anyways.... it's worth a shot

i copied my cfml only after i discovered my joysticks wouldnt work..

i did a fresh install of the beta, and the live version.. joystick still worked in the live server/training server, but not the beta..

but... with .41, my launcher wont even launch the beta, so i'm workin on figuring out why atm..

Have we found any consistencies between those who are having trouble and those that arent?

i use XP at home.

I have the same problem. 1.31 (44) BETA, X52 Pro, WinXP and Win7

Joystick or rudder pedals are not working in game. Can't fly in beta. Tried in Win7 and WinXP.

In 1.30 i have no problems with joystick at the same time.

Setting default joystick in windows control panel from none to X52 Pro solved the problem.

I don't know if there's any fix for that, but I DL'ed the last beta client last night and just copy/past my cfml folder and put it in the beta folder. Worked like charm. No issues at all.

X52 throttle + MS Siderwinder FFB 2 Pro.

I had to delete the cfml file, RESTART my computer, start offline mode to make sure all sticks were detected, then import the cfml files, restart offline mode, pull up device manager and disable my joysticks until they were all the numbers I needed them to be, then open offline beta again and test it out.

Oh and in between all the disable changes I had to keep detecting my joysticks from in game. Hope all I went through helps someone else.

I got similar problem with my crappy saitex st90. Works in 1.30, but nothing on beta. Using win xp sp3

Well here was my experience with Saitek and Beta. Apparently beta reads both my throttle and joystick as #1 where'as 3.0 reads them as separate controllers. So I guess I'll have to go to drive, shoot, and fly, and do slight adjustmnts in Beta. Overall pasting my old settings into the new beta is working well.

Try this. Delete cfml file out of beta. RESTART your computer. Then go offline (loads a ton faster) and try to kepmap. See if it recognizes your sticks then, even though they might not be the same number they were before.

I can't replicate any issues with my Saitek ST290, Cyborg GOLD or X52 PRO.

I can;t fix it if I can't find it.
