Last night I was playing and the sound had no direction to it at all. You could hear a vehicle getting closer but not from which direction. To test this get into an aircraft and turn your head while the engine is running. Unlike current live there is no change in the sound comming out of the speaker

I am running a Creative Soundblaster X-Fire

Try hardware sounds and retest. Right now it will reset to software after a restart...fixed .45.
