Radial Clutter Problem

In the beta 05/28/10 I saw a *LOT* of people lying prone in fields, crawling along. Wide open empty fields. I killed several of those people, easily.

They thought they were in concealment.

I have seen this every time we have had beta open. It isn't just the Welcome Backs, it is veteran players too.

I said the first time this new Clutter was introduced that it was too big, that it was past the point of eye-candy, which, according to CRS, is the reason it is there.

If it is JUST supposed to be eye-candy, to break up the flat smooth plane you are playing on and make it look better from a first-person point of view, then it needs to be fixed, it is WRONG.

It is too big.

It obstructs view.

It makes people think they are concealed when they are NOT.

Eye-candy should do NOTHING except sit there and look pretty.

It should NOT change player behavior in ANY way.

*ESPECIALLY* if that change means exposing yourself so you can see. A player should not be forced to skyline himself when trying to look over a ridge and see enemy movement to report, or when using a sniper (or regular) rifle.

*ESPECIALLY* if that change means exposing yourself because you think the opposite, because you think you are actually in concealment.

MAKE IT SMALLER, SHORTER, SINK IT INTO THE GROUND.

SOMETHING.

Ya know, at first Romsburg, you rubbed me the wrong way and I wasn't a fan. But over the past 12 months, you have really grown on me. You're precise, well spoken and although you are sometimes a little harsh, you are most often correct and in proper context with your responses.

I can't say [any]thing else [than] that the ban was justified considering that you have an 'impressive' TOS history....

The only thing worse than being talked about is *not* being talked about.

As much I would like to not agree with you I must. The clutter is way too big, obstructs view and makes people think they are concealed!!!

Agreed. One of the basic principles of this game was always that visibility was equal for two opposing players.

That's been shredded now with the radial clutter we have in game, and CANNOT TURN OFF!

At the very least, give us back the option to disable it.

I think "clutter" should be set and cannot be raised or lowered that way its equal. Take the stats for all the machines playing, come up with an average for what it should be set to and review that average every few months to release a patch to raise it. Each day someone improves their machine so doing incremental improvements can help sustain a live community too. Woo! :D
