1.30 is everything is yellow

1.31 everything is dark green

maybe in 1.35 we can have more than one colour for the landscape

The 1.30 trees are very yellow. Yellow bark (?), yellow leaves. I look at 1.31 and see dark bark, green leaves, maybe a little too dark, but still leaps ahead of 1.30

It's not perfect no, but I look out at the trees across the yard, then those 2 screenshots, and 1.31 definitely looks more like a tree "should" look. 1.30 trees are freaky alien trees by comparison.

I think that the trees in 1.31 are a bit to dark. Like them a bit better then 1.30 trees.

Also some of the trees in 1.31 have a magic line going through them. Like under the line it is way dark and on top of the line its to light. Kinda looks like someone took two different trees and made them one.

I like 1.31 trees color (could me lil bit warmer) , but overall look is less realistic.

effects of light in the 131 were forgotten and badly made .. dawn' date=' dusk no more ...[/quote']

Cant agree more. Another thing made for Axis. Day is gray, overcast is gray, night is gray...

I only like sun glare and rain.

That's funny because the axis are over there saying this color was tailor made for allies, they are impossible to make out against the foliage now.

I'd rather blend in with the terrain as alies than blend in with the sky as axis.

Beta:

They used to look better in some of the early photos.

Probably reduced the graphics on the trees to increase fps, it would be nice if there is an option to adjust the details of the trees as low, mid, high if its possible.

Well I have around 5-6 older beta full installs. Checked .30 yesterday. They really did cut down on the details. Gonna post a screenie from the .18 beta. Same location for comparison.

In 1.31...

#1 Are trees always the same for all players?

#2 How big differences are there between different LOD models in terms of how much cover they give?

#3 Why can you walk/drive through them?

#4 Can you shoot through them?

___

I think the answer to #1 is "no"; they are not always exactly the same

Wow - thats some nice looking trees!

But I can see what that did to your FPS as well - so I think I understand the prioritization by CRS here.

I just wish there could be a slider or toggle for high/low resolution trees in the settings...

I definitely at least think that they should bring back a speed tree slider and radial clutter slider, with the minimum settings as what they currently are set to.

LOL listen to everyone.

This game overall looks far more modern and superior to 1.30 and, I don't know about the rest of you, but I get better FPS and more smooth gameplay in 1.31 with max settings than I do in 1.30 with min settings.

Sorry, this complaint makes me giggle.

Ditto.

I lost some top end FPS, but it holds steady, and that matters more to me.

What is annoying to me is the light-green suddenly black green trees as I fly over them. It is somewhat minor, but be nice if fixable.

The grass and trees are higher resolution. That makes all the difference.

They should give us an option for texture resolution.

I dont much like the colors in 1.31. To much green and to dark. Even worse there is no way to adjust colors and light yet. In 1.31 you can go to another monitor and run RivaTuner.

Now the other day, in 1.31, I blasted a 190 point blank in a P-38 and the flame/explosion WAS beautiful. I dig the infantry rag doll and blood efx too. So high marks for all that, and for the smoke efx.

Other days its all looked to hazy and out of focus to me. The cursor controls respond much slower as well, ie; You can turn a running rifleman as quickly. So...we'll see. I still think it has a ways to go.

Ok in terms of taking a old engine and making small improvements thats HUGE! Speedtree makes trees for allot of games and they are used because of the performance they have, thus why they maybe stayed with them. In terms of realistic looking, I think they are making small changes to not overwhelm the long playing people who do not want change.
