FPS lower than 25 Beta

I was told to post here if FPS was lower than 25 with minimum specs, which I believe I have.. in towns i'm getting anything from 10-40 FPS, bigger fights generally around 15-25 fps... sometimes got lower than 10.

Some of my specs... :

AMD Athlon II X4 630 Processor (quad core) 2.8ghz

4 Gigs RAM

ATI HD 5600 series

Win7 64 bit

Feel free to delete or move this to another thread if there is already one, or post that I should do so.

Around 20 FPS in Remagen just now.

AMD dual 6000+ (3ghz)

Nvidea 9800 gt

3 gb ram

EDIT: Min specs = Min settings, than delete post. I used max settings.

Please try to adjust a few settings, most of the time you can gain quite a bit of FPS if you scale the settings according to your system.

I read that in some circumstances turning off water reflections (even if there are no water reflections are close to you) will give you an FPS boost.

Also disabling shadows will help.

Please try some different settings and report back here in this thread.

Same thing here, spawning in Remagen AB as Inf and turning E towards town brings my FPS from around 40 to 20 in an instant. Playing around with settings to increase performance, that is switching of some effects or selecting a lower vis limit, has no effect whatsoever.

I recommend that all of you to the FPS survey and submit your values.

That is the zbsolute best way for CRS to get a grip on where the problems are (if they are of a general nature or if they related to specific problems with some GPU´s or drivers).

Also - if would be good to hear your experience as well. It is one thing to have a number of 20 in the FPS box - bit something completely different to how it feels in the game.

Well, we were specifically told by a Rat to post here if our FPS drop below 25 in Beta. Apparently they have implemented some kind of routine that dynamically chooses which units to render or not to render so that you don't drop below 25 fps.

Imo thats a very clever move, because everyone will complain about bad fps but very few people will complain about units not rendering. So when you play with a minimum spec rig and don't drop below 25 frames you will be very pleased with the performance and won't realise that this is only possible because the game drastically limits the units being rendered.

If that's the case I pretty much consistently get less than 25 fps in large battles.

Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 2.40 GHz

4 GB ram

Geforce 9600 GS

Windows Vista

Just a FYI - that vid card is two generations behind minimum requirements for the game. I doubt you would ever get it to show 25 FPS at any time....

I am sorry, I am an idiot, that's a typo.

Was kind of wondering how you were able to even start the game :)

I have the same set up except I have the 9800 GT and I see fps drop below 25 often. I even tried Nvidia's beta drivers released last week and now the game is choppy and fps numbers are all over the place. I will be going back to the regular drivers. The game is playable for me but I saw a message posted many times to report if we saw fps below 25.

LOL I didn't know he was a Rat. Thought it was some dude with a Pentium II moaning about having to upgrade his rig or something.

Thanks for your reports.

We had a few scenes this weekend which got close to what we have to expect when the game goes live. It is very helpful for making realistic assessments on performance when you report your frame rates for these specific ingame situations.
