adjust the settings in your video card control panel, increase brightness/contrast or gamma, whatever works best.

Right side pic is photoshopped to look like what I think a daytime with clear skies should look like. I have increased brightness, contrast and changed color balance (more yellow, less green). I also photoshopped the gun model, especially the sights, to be much darker.

(It's ok to have darker/cloudy days too, but even during those the weapon models/textures would need some work to make the sights more visible.)

Having post render filter on (the glow and blur) makes the game a bit brighter, but personally I have it disabled (in almost all games) because I don't like the look. Unfortunately the game does not have gamma adjustment in it's settings so you have to use a 3rd party tool. Nvidia control panel only allows overall gamma settings (that affect everything, not a single program). I think PowerStrip is quite popular, but I have not had need for it until now. Perhaps I'll give it a shot. But rather I'd like the developer of this game to

1) add gamma correction slider to game settings

2) increase the default gamma, especially if post render filter is disabled

But the color pallet (of the textures), etc could use some work too.

I agree that the game is way to dark right now, I've also been annoyed by this as it's extremely hard on the eyes.

right now I have to more or less have to have a different gamma setting for the game than I have in windows.

how can you do this with a mac?

I have a hard time seeing my sights too.

System Prefs>Displays>Color .

Setting it to Adobe RGB brightens it for me. I change it only when im about to play.

BTW quit camping the Beta ;p

It needs changing from the Rats end ultimately. Its not ideal to expect everyone to change their colour palette each time they play.

I do not agree. Try this IRL on a place surrounded by trees like that and you'll find that the original is much more real. It's just not that bright in reality as your PS'd picture.

On the other hand, there could be some improvements on making the sight visible because that should be possible to see.

Instead of choosing a preset there, go through the calibration process.

I should not need to change my video settings off default to play this game.

Here is what I see when spawning in the AB barraks on a dark and stormy night

If your settings are wrong, yes, you should.

If you think when you a buy a monitor it is already set corrsctly, you're wrong.

Bwahhahahahaha.... lol I know, I was even asking myself why I was doing that... its just so rare to have a Cru3 pwning Tigers... I think I got 4, I know I got 10 AFVs in total - of course that was a total camp. I could just hear thefalen screaming about the camp in my head. He was one determined tank spawner.. then I just despawned hoping to let Axis regain the w side. Even asked on chat, "you all sure you want to cap this side?"

Yeah mine looks nothing like that picture. I can see my sights even in doors and at night.

FFS, not everyone is an computer idiot. I have calibrated my monitor and the game is still too dark. We can sit around and argue about this, or we can take note that a great deal of testers, many of which are pretty good with computers, are having this issue. Wait until release and you'll hear a great many players complain about it who haven't played beta. Bottom line is that the average player WON'T jump through hoops to play the game so we have to expect CRS to make the changes on their end.

better to do a good default lightning then having everyone increasing gamma to max so the game looks weird.

Here we have another color/darkness comparison between 1.31 and 1.30 from the other thread:

1.30:

PS. Monitor calibration doesn't affect screenshots.

And comparing those two all I can say is, 1.31 looks better in every way. It's 1.30 that's to darn bright!

Zeta please know that both screen shots were done with gamma 1.4 set in CCC, everything else left at default.

I don't know what's wrong with the sun where you live (too much smog?-)), but to me 1.30 seems more like a sunny day

It's fine to have cloudy days too, and maybe 1/3 sunny, 1/3 cloudy, 1/3 rainy might be a good ratio.
