I don't know what's wrong with the sun where you live (too much smog?-)), but to me 1.30 seems more like a sunny day

It's fine to have cloudy days too, and maybe 1/3 sunny, 1/3 cloudy, 1/3 rainy might be a good ratio.

I agree 100%. Even 1.30 had to washed out colours, there is no question about this, heck the bushes are pitch black at some places in 1.31.

The rats should do an overall color revisit before release, the grass isn't even green, more yellow brown than actually green.

A lot of players will agree in the game and on the forums that its a bit darker than it should be in 1.31, just need to make it a lil brighter and were good.

For example in these shots the lighting / colors are great!

But day time is a problem.

This is spawning inside a depo a little later (midday):

If rats don't see a problem here, than it's gonna be a HUGE mistake to release this crap.

Thief?

I think in your pic everything seems pretty ok for a 11am stormy day. (although irl I have never seen this black clouds covering the entire sky, but this is a game after all).

Funny thing is though that in that completely black skies pic the trees seem to have the exactly same lighting as they have in the clear skies screenies.

edit: The second indoors pic however looks quite dark.. but I don't see any light bulbs or candles anywhere :)

The game is too dark. Better not release this **** like this.

Oh I'm using my head, not sure about you though.

And everyone is also turning up their gamma to play on this "normal cloudy stormy day" to see anything. But you can keep living in denial, go ahead.

I would argue but then again CRS isnt going to make the dark stormy day any brighter just for you so.....

So another round of light settings took place today.

I can't begin to tell you what a PITA it is to use our "tool" and then compound the issue by every single person in the known universe having different card/monitor/driver/settings.

I got most of the green out of night, made night brighter and made overcast and rainy days brighter.

Do I expect this version to get universal applause? No but I think it's better than the last version.

I bookmarked the photofriday.com calibration - and it turns out I was already set to match those calibration results just about perfectly. No wonder all my photoshop work looks so great. :)

I think I must be stupid because I have no clue how to use that thing, and I've read through the directions three times. I can easily see the differences in the darker tones, but the 3-4 whitest tones blend together.

Put a gamma slider in the UI and then put a gradient picture there for calibration.

just stop already ! :D

(we'll never please everyone, and everyone is not going to have identical video settings)

i think we're good

we could do this forever, 1 tiny tweak every day until eternity passes

(yay for never ending!)

;)
