I was viewing a friendly tiger and he was on fire to me, but to himself he was just fine. I tried to take a screenshot, but the game crashed when I hit the button :/ Just a weird bug worth reporting. I didn't ask if anyone else saw it, but I didn't notice anyone else mention anything.

I did see this once... Remagen i think it was.

Tiger rolled out of the AB in fire, I thought to myself that "there goes another noob".

Then he stopped and started firing around across the river.

Fire stopped at some point, he was in game for long enough for me to realize the initial fire was a bug.

Also saw this on a sherman. Thought it was getting hit but turned and raced across a berm. Then it got hit for real and exploded.

Don't know if this is related but I was in a P3f and I was hit by an atg. I knew I was damaged but someone called out that I was on fire. Popped my head out and I wasn't... non repeatable...

Watched a churchill next to me burn and burn and burn - I asked what got him and he said nothing Im ok. He stayed on fire for 3 minutes or so right outside AB entrance, then proceeded to enter the AB, fire went out and his track blew off. This time he was actually tracked. Interesting enough the AB was so jam packed with allied tanks I have no idea what could have tracked him.

At rochefort, we had tanks running down the main street all of them where on fire, and then the craziest thing the fires started bouncing all over the place like in the movie fire starter.... again the tanks where not burning. Then the fireballs left and nobody was on fire. Spooooky.

Applies to airplanes too. Heard at least 2 reports of fire, and saw one friendly with fireball trailing about 10 meters, but no damage.

I saw it happen again last night.

What is VERY particular, these issues seems to effect only certain aircraft:

Hawks have a flame and smoke bug even though they did not explode or lose something.

Bells would have a trailing (some 25m behind) "puff ball" trails on them.

I saw a 109 with trailing puff ball as well, but do not recall which version (F-4 or G-6).

Never saw a Spit or Hurri with those issues.

Hope that helps at least confirm the fix.

Still see some aircraft flying around looking like a roman candle. Had a 110 and Ju87 over Breda today, but they left my view to quick to get a screen shot.

Saw a tank on fire driving around like nothing as well last night.

This does not seem to be fixed.

yep flamed a hurricane IIC in a 110 i chase him around we pass head on and than he does a 180 and catches me up to me as if on rails and shoots me down. So apparently the flight model is fudged when they get flaming. no way you can turn and fly like that when not on fire.

Well, since it may be specific to individual systems, here are my specs:

Win XP x64

nVidia Quadro FX3600M 512mb driver v.197.16

Intel T9300 2.53ghz Core 2 Duo

4 GB PC5300 DDR RAM

I flamed him and got the kill, kinda reminded me of the old panchar bug where you kill them and they die 1 minute later.

No Frantish it is not specific to any aircraft. If indeed it is an incorrectly applied state from another ID in the sortie table, it could in theory be applied to anything player controlled.

Like, something that doesn't even have a gas tank could be on fire. Like the infantry I saw on fire 3 days ago, or the anti-aircraft gun, neither of which have any fire expectation effects wise, in game.

Looking for a particular aircraft is not (even if it did turn out to be specific to them) a place to start looking as it will lead you to make assumptions that will leave you stranded later.

The place to start looking is why something is told to be on fire in the first place, rather than what is being told to be on fire. We cannot do anything with "saw a panzer spawn in on fire" (I actually did) or "a havoc flew around fpr 10 minutes dogfighting with his wing blazing like a roman candle" (saw this too) as it doesn't tell us anything about why.

Now, "saw a rifleman on fire dancing" tells us a lot more, because for starters, it tells us that it has nothing to do with your gas tank being on fire from damage it took.

So, when you see this kid of thing, observe it for a moment, look around and note the environment, BUT DON'T START TO THINK YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS.

Look for similarities. What was happening last time you saw this that is happening again. Things that tell you more what it isn't than what it is are also useful. By eliminating the things it isn't you help define the path to what it is.

Look at how many other players are in the area, what kind of surroundings you're in. Like any good observer you don't analyse the results or make assumptions about the causes until after you've collected a lot of observations and something then jumps out at you suggesting where to look further. In 95% of cases where people guess what their observations mean and build a theory around that guess they turn out to be wrong because they are really looking for things that prove they were right in their guess/feeling/idea etc.

Really good observers build their case around not what they want to say, but on what the results say, or even just gently hint about. Most good reports are the ones that raise more questions, rather than try to answer them.

I see burning aircraft that keep flying.

The fire goes out and restarts.

Happens after I see some wtfplodes.

lots of aircraft around over populated AOs.

Also happens everytime after I have fired my own guns and gotten a kill. (not every time I get a kill just the bug appears after I have gotten a kill.)

One thing I've noticed is often (basically every time I bother to really pay attention) when I see streaking fireballs, I also see a strange straight graphic glitch:

I had a mle38 next to me push around in flames yesterday. I was going to capture video but launching the video cap SW crashed the game so I didn't even get any screenshots.

It looked like aircraft "on fire" effect. It was two points of origin: the end of the barrel where the muzzle flash usually renders and also at center/base of the gun. The fire effects started as soon as the gun spawned in a depot.

Saw a Bofors on fire earlier today. Asked but noone else seemed to see the it so I guess it was on my client side only.

Took a few screenies but I'll only post them if it's needed.
