without zoom in the middle of a forest, scanning 360 with cmdr fps it 60 solid

zoom with binocs drops to 4fps.

zoom with tank gun.. drops to 4ps.

strangely enough, a few patches ago that issue had been resolved for me yet now... its back to being unplayable.

only happens with treeline leafs (top area) .. they just murder fps.

I'm going to have to confirm this one, I'm still getting alot of FPS drop when using bino or gun sights.

Dinant today was pain in the butt looking for axis along the forest on the hill.

I went through alot of my nvidia settings and turned most stuff off or down, but this is still an issue for me.

im using asus gforce 7800GT 256ram with everything switched off except ragdolls, blood anims, etc (inf stuff). no water shaders no post render filter nothing. AA is disabled so is any filtering or triple buffering from the vid card (tried it with all on and all off and i dont see any difference .. its just the TREES that kill fps).

few patches ago when this was 'fixed' I could be inside a deep forest with binoc zoom and all and my fps would go from 60 to 45 as it normally does in live. but now, to 4fps.. completely unplayable.

oddly though, when flying and on zoom gunsight view passing treetop level i dont get this fps death.

what can this be? shadows? its gotta be something that isnt rendered when one is flying.

Odds: Try flying and see if you get this. also, when flying check for memory leak. For me when flying the game starts stuttering first at 1 min intervals (sound cuts off for a split second when it stutters, fps to 1) then becomes progressively more frequent until all you see is a slideshow of 1 fps with sound cutting in and out. Restarting the game is the only way to get it back to normal for if you exit the mission and start a new plane you get slideshow starting at the hangar.

I don't think it's an Nvidia issue. I have no such drop in fps when zoomed in on trees and I am running a GTX 260. I think you just need a better/newer video card. I have an 8800 GTX 756mb I'm not using. PM me if you're interested.

I get the same fps drop with zoomed view, using an 8600gt. Have to go to a lower resolution to be playable for now.
