While playing allied in the churchhill I had about 5 times where I died by acouple clean shots from a tiger but never poped or showed any damage.

No need to blow ammo to get killed. All crew dead from shrapnel might not light the fires.

Let's keep an eye on it though.

Kill possibilities while driving a tank:-

Driver killed by penetrating shot passing through him - visual damage will only result from engine/fuel/ammo/oil/radiator or track damage also done by the same round, ie: kill may result with no external visual cue

Driver killed by spall from non penetrating shot hitting him - visual damage will only result from engine/fuel/ammo/oil/radiator or track damage also done by the same round, ie: kill may result with no external visual cue

Gunner killed by penetrating shot passing through him - visual damage will only result from engine/fuel/ammo/oil/radiator or track damage also done by the same round, ie: kill may result with no external visual cue

Gunner killed by spall from non penetrating shot hitting him - visual damage will only result from engine/fuel/ammo/oil/radiator or track damage also done by the same round, ie: kill may result with no external visual cue

Main gun disabled by direct hit of sufficient energy - no visual cue rendered

Engine killed by penetrating shot hitting it - visual cues are rendered

Fuel catching fire from penetrating shot hitting fuel tank - visual cues are rendered

Fuel catching fire from shrapnel from exploding APHE round (post penetration) hitting fuel tank - visual cues are rendered

Fuel catching fire from spall from non penetrating shot hitting fuel tank - visual cues are rendered

Ammunition storage blows up from penetrating shot hitting it - visual cues are rendered

Ammunition storage blows up from shrapnel from exploding APHe round (post penetration) hitting it - visual cues are rendered

Ammunition storage blows up from spall from non penetrating round hitting it - visual cues are rendered

Both tracks damaged if damage also applied to suspension/drive-wheel/idler-sprocket at the same time - visual cues are rendered

All the above are equally applied to bomb strikes on a tank with regard to post impact consequences
