9 FPS Chunking/Loading

Haven't seen any other reports of this and it's hard to figure out what is causing it.

But throughout some town fighting tonight my fps would drop like the game was loading something for 2-3 seconds, usually my FPS is very playable 30+ during medium action.

I did get it in beta once but wasn't able to recreate it enough for a concern.

The only thing i can think that is causing this is the movement of aircraft in and out of visible range, or it's a coincidence that I begin hearing aircraft engines when this occurs.

System Specs:

AMD Athlon 64 6000+ (x2) 3.0Ghz

Nvidia 8800GTS (320mb)

4Gb RAM (only 32bit Vista)

I just experienced that when flying. It got worse and worse later on. When I tried to land 45min later, I was stuttering 2...3 seconds every 1-2 seconds. Totally unplayable.

I'm running the game on ramdisk (8GB total, windows 7 64-bit) so stuttering was the last thing I expected from this patch...

Im not getting it constantly and it doesn't matter when im moving across the map so it cant be mass loading/unloading of player objects.

Convined this is to do with aircraft in some form, cannot get more into detail im afraid sorry Rats.

You are using the lowest detail settings of the game already?

Running all effects on full, except:

Shadows=Low

Clutter = Low

Vis Limit = Medium

Can play 30+ FPS pretty much all the time it's hard to find out what is causing this.

Given your initial supposition I'd like you to try switching hardware/software sound. Possibly reducing the number of sounds played as well.

I also have not seen this reported (or experienced) but would like follow up. I think there is something here.

Also, as Jaeger asks, you should try to run "best performance" and see if that makes a difference in itself.

Ambient - Infrequent

Infantry:

All Enabled
