Just downloaded the 1.31 full build for the main server. It passes the login screen and I choose campaign. It launches the loading graphic and i can see it do the connect to host routine, but it gets authentication failed and quits to desktop.

you running win 7?

if you so may need to make sure u are running WWIIOL as administrator.

If not.

sounds kind of like something to do with a firewall.

No. XP here. Was playing the game before update was pushed. Logged out to download update, installed it and error began after the new install. Have reset my cable modem, router and etc.

After thinking a bit more about some of the hints others gave here's what I did and it's now working again for me.

I had installed the latest full install after un-installing the previous.

I then downloaded the following and installed it;

http://installers.wwiionline.com/wwiiol13101311.exe

Launched the game and am in now. Maybe coincidence... maybe not. :) But worked for me. Good luck to those sharing in this.

I DID NOT uninstall 1.31.1 before installing the file referenced above as it's the update versus the full install.

S!

I tried patching thru the launch and it could connect to the patch server.

So I went to downloads and downloaded/installed and now I get this pop-up. :(

However:

I was able to patch thru the launch in beta and able to get into the game world.

Uninstalled and reinstalled wwiiol0001311.exe 550mb, tried wwiiol000013111.exe 550mb too, same pop-up.

Comon CRS you got me hooked with 1.31, now giv meh fix bac! i'm getting the shakes...

Re-patching the full install with that latest small patch fixed the issue for me as well. Good call.

After many times uninstalling/deleting folder and reinstalling the full install wwiiol0001311.exe which would return the:

Authentication Failed pop-up.

I decided to rip everything out again and install the full install wwiiol0001310.exe

and then install the incremental patch wwiiol13101311.exe

which worked! Finally!

lol I had same problem

yer gunna kickyourself it was so easy

I couldnt log in - authentication failed (multiple times)

so I try again = my comp "remembers" my log in name , but I erased and retyped it = worked , logged in and played

so at log in screen just erase and retype your log in name (silly n wierd 1 but it works) = perhaps the install added a space where 1 should not have been I dunno /shrug
