game resets computer after about an hour of play.

no symptoms of its onset other than lock up (distorted sound and all) and then computer restart.

sounds like video card overheating or CPU overheating maybe.

^^ What they said.

Seen those exact symptoms before... Pull of your computer case and look as your CPU Heat Sync Fins (as well as your video cards). I can almost guarantee it is dirty and not cooling to its full potential.

Now that the game is a little more demanding it it likely pushing your system to where it can not quite cool itself and it will shutdown.

Get some compressed air and clean that baby out :P

That would be my first suggestion as well. If that fails post us a sys spec and we can help.

I had this same issue after a few hours in game.

Cleaned my case out a couple of weeks ago, CPU and GPU temps were fine and I wasn't spawned in when it occured.

Just got a blurred screen and then a reboot.

I had the same happen a few times on my single slot 8800GT 512mb which is a notorious overheater. The cooler on that is just a joke. Havent seen anything like it on my new card i got yesterday.

Most likely a temperature issue.

Another thing that it could be is if the cpu is overclocked and all settings aren't changed to make it perfectly stable. If it's not 100% stable it will crash eventually when it's under stress.

computer 100% stock with no overcloaking or high performance parts. no other game (eve maxed, lots of games on steam) have given the same results. heatsinks dust free.

i have removed the anti virus and anti adware from the PC just in case it was them, going to continue testing.

WWIIOL will Peg your GPU/CPU/Memory alot more than other games do.

1.31 gave me my first ever blue screen of death a few nights ago. I'd only been spawned into an empty ab for 20 seconds and the picture went funny, sound distorted and then blue screen.

My system isn't really pushed to the limits by the game as I regularly get 100fps+. This system has also been rock solid running anything and I've never had a problem with overheating as I use a full tower case with good fans. Infact the air that comes out the back is quite cool.

Like I say in probably 15 years of using windows its my first BSOD at home, so well done CRS :D

If anyones interested, I'm running an i920 and win7 pro

Depending on your graphics card get rivatuner or equivelant and make sure FAN is running at 100% rather than automatic.

Similar shoud be available for your Motherboard and CPU i.e. AMD overdrive

issue found, its to do with the auzentech X-plosion soundcard, most likely the drivers (latest) switched the WW2OL soundcard over to the prelude and no hard lockups since.
