The game keeps forcibly despawning me

Everytime I try alt+tab out of the game to read the forums, the game will despawn me after a few minutes.

This never happened before. It started a couple days ago.

Auto despawn happens when the client doesn't get any network packets for X seconds and assumes your connection has dropped. Not sure why alt tab would have this.

Are you hammering your connection while alt-tabbed?

I was alt-tabbed all night last night from the office. Gonna be a connection issue somewhere.

Another issue I found that is connection related is when I enable fraps, planes and vehicles will start sliding around as though my connection is being interrupted. It doesn't always happen. And often it will settle down after a while, but occasionally spike up.

I have no idea why this would be the case, unless maybe my CPU is being overloaded?

I wonder if this started happening after I put WW2OL exclusively on core #2, and everything else on core #1.

If you overload your cpu it can cause net errors.

And I too have had one instance of ctd while alt tabbed out, checking stats.

I keep a clean machine that shows 0% cpu use at idle and 0 d/l 41 bytes/s upload after loading webpages...ie at connection idle. I'm on a 6meg connection so the game and csr should'nt cause a ctd. At any rate a connection issue should cause cthl, what I had was a crash to desktop not a connection to host lost.

All my drivers are up to date.

i7 920 oced to 3.4 temps are well within norm running the game.

gf260gtx

6gigs ddr3 ram

60gig SSD HD

win7 64

6meg cable connection that pings dallas at 75ms with 7ms jitter.

i'm doubting its cpu load myself.

if i'm alt/tab 'ed out i'll despawn in about 1 min.

the only reason i alt/tab out is to adjust TS volume or fiddle with TS n some other way.

some times i can catch it .

when moving in a fmb ,you will notice a horizontal wake go across the bow of the boat.

the horizontal wake means you got 3 secs till despawn.

using netcode2

OOH. Don't do that. Bad ZeroAce.

Try again.

TBH if you are experiencing despawns while alt-tabbed I can;t imagine what is wrong but something is. Again, I am alt-tabbing all day (and night) everyday. Never despawn.

Dunno.

Isn't there a Windows setting that can force focus to the active tab? (Basically turns off tabs in background from connection).

Mebbe. idunnolol. This is a shard of memory from poking around with the windows super-adjustments freeware that was popular a while back.

I'd dig around your router settings 192.168.1.1 or is it 198.162.1.1 ? (I always have to try both).

Good luck.
