Fps pulses from 4 to 50

I need to restart game most times as the first time the fps pulses from 4 to 50 and won't go away with time.If I restart game it is OK normally.

If i turn a circle I move in steps .Even trying to get out of game , it is hit and miss trying to leave as to whether it will see my key stroke.

I get the same thing, all I have to do is spawn in a couple of times and it usualy fixes it for me for the rest of the night.

If you log out of the game you get the same issue next time you log in, so my solution is find a quiet place to spawn a inf, and spawn in, wait a min or two, despawn, repeat until you get normal FPS (usualy takes me 2 or 3 spawns to correct it). Then you can play OK from then on.

Ditto, although mine are usually 5 to 22 fps. After restarting the game it disappears.

However, I just purchased a newer graphics card and that has made the problem almost disappear.

My FPS are very similar, switching from 6-70, making the game virtually un-playable. No matter what I do, since this last "patch" my performance(FPS) has gone to heck. I have attempted to play through it a couple of times hoping it will fix itself but, have had no luck ata all. I have un-installed and re-installed the game twice, with exactly the same results. Please help me.

Please post detailed specs (computer video card VRAM OS etc)

Nvidia 7900 with dual monitors and latest driver 257 (I think )

Windows XP pro sp3

3.2 gig pentium 4 dual core

3 gig ram

high speed internet

Slow sound blaster 128 card

Goes away usually with second game login

Funny I got this error last night in Lux. Bounced from 30s to 6 every second or so for one frame, even sitting in one place. 4870. Made it really hard to play.
