1.31.4.255 Teamspeak Key Bindings Issue

A few members of my squad (myself included) running Windows 7 or Vista now have problems with using hotkeys in Teamspeak with the latest patch, 1.31.4.255. (Solution below.)

When out of game and TS is running behind a primary window, such as surfing the web or using another program, everything is fine. Push-to-talk works, volume mapping, etc. When switched to the game "window", Teamspeak keybindings are ignored, including push-to-talk, making TS unusable. This didn't happen to all members with Vista/Win 7, only a few of us, and seems fine for Win XP users.

I'm not sure what changes were made to the latest patch, but everything was was fine during the intermission before this campaign.

The solution: Run Teamspeak as an administrator (even if your primary Windows account is an admin account). It makes sense that this isn't an issue in XP, since the tighter user account control was added in Vista.

Right-click the TS icon.

Properties --> Compatibility

Check "run as administrator"

OK

Launch TS.
