It wasn't in the readme - you reckon they just forgot, or that they wanted us to finish out this map with the busted factory repair timers for the sake of consistancy?

Well, it wasn't fixed with the new map... but it was supposed to have been fixed with the release of v1.32 a few days ago, as was spelled out in the readme file.

Unfortunately, it appears that the factory rebuild times have not been reset to the previous value of 24hours, as evidenced by my bombing last night: "Dusseldorf Production Facility 3 100% destroyed, no RDP contribution". That facility should have been at ~50% damage state at noontime today, but instead showed 22%. It looks like the rebuild timer is now longer than 14 hours though, or else that it is non-linear, or else that someone else was bombing it somewhat after I was done...

Rats, please take a look at this when you can, thanks.

they did extend the time in which it repairs back to 100%, before in only a few hours it'd be back to 100%, now it takes hours just to go up 5%.

It's a host side piece of code that our host coder has to look at, as soon as he gets out of hospital I'll bring it to his attention.

PS: whatever the factory rebuild timers are set to isn't "wrong" just because the value changed from what it might have been at some other time in the games history. There is no inherent "correctness" about it being 24 hours than there is if it were 48 hours, or 1 hour. It has like many other things the ability to be any number of values and we choose thess things as we see fit; usually to embrace a number of criteria, not just personal preferance.

For example, the value thay are at now is the original value they used to be before we changed them, and the one you obviously prefer is one we later altered them to be.

They are not "wrong" or bugged at any value we set them to. So while we do intend to change them back again, you need to look at this differently, even with that change.

We understand that some feel very strongly about the subject but I wanted to point out that if the timers were any number of hours it wouldn't be because they were always that value. There isn't a correct time or an incorrect one.

When I hear people ask if this has been "fixed" it's important to realize it isn't broken. It's just reverted back to a previous value that existed before we changed it, because of an old host file.

What? No WiFi in the Hospital? :)

Best wishes for a speedy recovery to your employee.

i don't remember anyone else bombing after you stopped that day. you surely can image why i still remember that.

did you enjoy the escort service from Düss to Hasselt our 3rd encounter?

Yeah - you shot me down 4 times over the factories. You won the lottery that day for sure: showed up without enough altitude, got vis on me, had to climb through the fire from my pea-shooter tailgun fire, then whe I had seconds to jump to my bombsight to get bombs off you opened fire: damage was just enough to cause my bombsight to jump off target. I especially hate it when you shoot at my engines and my bombardier dies. Once I was missing one (or both) engines, I still tried to get bombs on target, and once I even fought you with just one engine. Against the best LW fighter in the game, no one can expect much of a fight from a cripple bomber missing an engine, but I did pretty well I thought. The one time you showed up AFTER my bombs were away, I put up a good fight fight - and you broke off. Here are a couple of screen shots from that encounter (note the text buffer in the 2nd shot):

SShot1597.jpg?t=1287585940

Once more later that day when I was light on fuel (having made my 3rd factory run on one fuel load with all bombs on target) at 7km inbound to an AO to look for some poor sap to bounce to help make up my suffering DB7 K/D, I got called AFK to look at some OrBat changes - and guess who showed up above and behind me just then to spoil my fun? Lucky bastard of the day...

Can't blame you for doing what enemy fighters are supposed to be doing - but you didn't help me at all with the objective of the day, which was to test factory repair times. But I eventually achieved my aim all the same - it just took me longer ;):

ya a bit of all, bad luck on your side and a lot of coincidences. you got me hooked when i've met you the first time just 10k south of

Eindhoven around 3.5k alt going east. once i got the taste of blood, i lifted from Düss all day. in our 3rd encounter i reconiced the moves

and thought it must be you again. why i broke off and winged you towards Hasselt? you dropped yor load already, 3 times in a row and

you might stop doing what you were doing i figured, so i let you pass. you came back and i've found you again, nonetheless you tricked

me a couple times and i had to set her down without fuel. that 7k encounter was pure luck, but the door swings both ways. u made a

roll and i couldn't avoid ramming into you, damaged my prop and got in a bad stall. 3k lower i got hold of her and tryed to glide towards

Gilze af, only to get shot down the airstrip almost in sight. what i don't get is why circle the Gilze ai later that day. perhaps you were

draggin for the spit in that area. i came all the way from Düss only to find you. was there even lw on the af?

When I saw 4 low cons southbound to the AO (Hasselt?) from Eindhoven at just ~3km, I though "what bad luck that I am not in a fighter - looks like a Stuka party!" When I saw the rearmost one break off in my direction, I thought about diving directly for Aachen to pretend that I was a LW fighter on RTB and maybe the pursuit would break off. I knew it was either a 109 or a 190 chasing me: a few hundred meters more separation and I'd have been out of grey-halo range. I'd have put up a good fight if your first burst hadn't half-killed my pilot. I s'pose I could have bailed, but I am not in that habit, so the thought usually never even occurs to me.

After getting shot down a few times, I thought, well then, let's see how good he is at shooting down bombers that are not on autopilot", *lol*. I am not surprised I ran you out of fuel. There were some more guys with you whom I ran out of fuel too, I expect, several times that day (after an hour+ of being chased, seeing pursuing yellow squares vanish in the middle of nowhere or over an airfield is a dead giveaway).

Consider that my revenge. :)

Back on track - at least the problem with the rebuild timers is once again acknowledged and slated once again for adjustment back to 24 hours. Let's keep the topic refreshed once in a while with updates so that we know if/as/when the timers change.

I wonder if the same issue applies to bridges and other self-healing stuff?

nah. We sped up the factory rebuild times as a test during beta but shortly after we started using a new source control. The host was still getting this file from the old source control via a script so it was loading the wrong values at start up. This has been corrected but I'll double check that the new file is correct.

Yup. Exact same numbers as they were in 1.28. Should be all good.

will this need a new map to become active? from the looks of it nothing has changed...
