Sounds, still major issues. Planes so loud

CRS is it an intended "feature" that the planes are so loud if you are an inf on the ground? Why are the planes SO LOUD?

Why would a plane that is 1-2k in altitude above me be 100X louder than a tank engine that is 2 feet from me?

I live next to an airport (literally right next to it) and the jetplanes that take off there are quieter than the planes in this game.

Is there someway to adjust this in game? If not then you guys have to turn the plane sounds down it is so unrealistic it destroys the sound part of the game for me.

I have a brand new fatality sound card and have zero issues with it (before you ask).

Agree, airplane sounds too loud. So is some AA fire I think too, but might only be next to AFs, not for sure.

Make sure you don't have SVM enabled on your soundcard.

FANTASTIC tip. Thank you much. Planes are still too loud but that helped a TON.

What is svm?

Edit: NVM. Read your info in the bionic ears thread. S!

SVM is a feature in the creative sound drivers that "normalize" all audio. Weak sounds will be boosted in volume so you can hear them clearly.

I completely loose my sense of distance in regards of the audio in the game if I enable it. Playing on ground becomes very frustrating. You suddenly hear the roar of a tank engine and think "****! where did that PZ come from? He must be like only 100m away!" only to find out he's actually like 2km away.
