Leaning broken?

I'm a big fan of using lean (as infantry) from other games, but in this game it seems to return you to center after some random period of time making it more or less useless to me.. Also lean with your rifle drawn may or may not work.

The guys I hate the most have mastered this. I estimate that 25% of people screaming I've been clipped have only been leaned. It's proabably the best tactic for cleaning out AB bunker campers like myself. I can't get it to work smoothly with my keyboard setup either or I would be using it more myself.

Well having always been like this is not right at all then is it.. :) The "feature" should work. I'm hoping this can be a real bug and get fixed.

Since lean is being discussed, I'd like to bring something up:

I tried to map "lean" to my rudder pedals—semi-successful. First, I had to do it through the CFML, because the keymapper won't map those functions to an axis. It worked, but apparently it will only lean one direction, and it sticks there until you move. Half-axis doesn't work there either, though it probably should, in theory. And, of course, the usual bug still affects it, so it remains less-than-useful.

If the devs get in there messing with the lean function, I would like for them to be able to make this work as well, if it's possible and feasible. Not a deal-breaker or anything—it'd just be nice.

I am surprised you need to map that to rudder pedal

you use Q & E for quick left and right look, so no key for leaning ?

do you have 5 button mouse ? map your 4 and 5 button on mouse to a key, and map that key in keymap, so you can use 4 and 5 button

I use that to look left and right and QE for leaning

It's normally set to a key, but there aren't enough keys immediately around the keypad (the method I always use), and I have to find the keys—not that it's too difficult or anything. However, my feet are already on the ground, near the pedals—don't even have to think about it; it's like an extra set of fingers on an extra set of keys (providing it works).
