Tall Grass On the Road, Report or Not?

I have some screenies of locations with tall grass on the road. Is this something we should be reporting, or would this be covered by something else?

Yep, I've seen lots of places with grass covering roads, or sidewalks or in bldgs. Should this be reported? I have not been reporting it.

report here, not in game via .report.

.report in game is for immediate issues a GM needs to look at immediately, IE cheating/clipping/etc.

Similar thing happened to me, except the grass appeared in the sky, after a respawn it disappeared (presumed it was back on land agian), then after a further few respawns it appars in the sky again, seems to be random.

Rarely get this issue, but it does prove the link to ppl getting shot in long grass, thinking they are unseen, when to others the grass is either not there or in the sky!

I have grass in buildings, in ABs, across roads, EVERY single time I spawn in.

Tall grass is not part of the terrain, it is generated by an algorithm and dropped *onto* the terrain. Same for the bushes that are not in a long line.

There is supposed to be some code for the tall grass fields that tries to place the grass in a certain configuration that is exactly the same for all players, and during that placement it checks for collision with roads, buildings, etc, and simply doesn't place it if there is a conflict.

But it doesn't ever work for me.

For a while, it would fail the *first* time I spawned in, but subsequent spawn-ins would not have the tall grass in these places I had just seen it.

I have also seen players crawling around on a hillside within 20 feet of an enemy player, and when I PMed the player, he said he was in tall grass and couldn't see the enemy player.

I have also been killed by ETs a long way away because I was stationary in what I *thought* was tall grass concealment, but was obviously simply not there to the ET, and he simply saw my lying prone in an empty field.

Tall grass code does not work right consistently.

I *never* try to hide in tall grass now, and never try to use bushes for any concealment unless they are part of a long line of bushes.

The frustrations of this issue, the spawn delays, the lagging, the no-fire-zones have changed my attitude about this game so much that for the first time in years I actually go days without bothering to even launch the game.

Ya know, at first Romsburg, you rubbed me the wrong way and I wasn't a fan. But over the past 12 months, you have really grown on me. You're precise, well spoken and although you are sometimes a little harsh, you are most often correct and in proper context with your responses.

I can't say [any]thing else [than] that the ban was justified considering that you have an 'impressive' TOS history....
