Inf spawns are easy to enter now. However, satchels no longer do double damage inside the INF.

Sound like a feature to me..

Are you sure? I just tested this before making my last post in the current beta because Gophur's comment seemed to imply that the problem has been dealt with. I could shoot and place satchels inside of an enemy infantry spawn without a problem though.

Or is there something about the no-fire zone mechanic that I don't understand (like it being activated only when players of both sides are nearby)?

They are not no fire zones. I placed charges. I reported that the charges only do normal damage inside the fb inf spawn. They don't do double damage in there anymore. It still takes 8 even in the inf spawn. But

Well that seems to be wrong. If you place the charges on the poles in the center tent you can bring it down with 4 charges.

They were no fire zones ... that's what I meant about "no fire zone" not too concerned about satchel charges. The reason to keep you out or make it no fire is so you don't shoot players as they are spawning in. Seems we lost this in beta but is a BUG.

Not anymore. I tried the center pole. I tried the poles in the tents in the INF. I'm not sure whether guns work in the spawn or not. If it is a no-fire zone it's not usual: there is no warning. When you enter a no-fire zone in a depot or ab you get feedback. There was no feedback.

If it was a no fire zone, then pixies shouldn't be able to whip out their satchels; should they? (whether they can get inside or not)

beta was synching so i ran to 1.31 live to check this out. inf is not a no fire zone. the 5 barrels entrance works in live and the center pole doesn't help

PS: satchels could be completely different to guns, whether they are or not is not very important outside of "can place or can't place" but since this is not the reason no fire zones were created, it isn't a big deal whichever way it goes. Shooting however, is a big deal and that is the point.

Can't you turn the inf spawns into no-fire zones? Might save you a bit of work enforcing those extra-rules and plugging all the holes in the spawns.

Oh yeah that's broken. That's why I asked if we care. it shouldn't really matter if an enemy inf gets in there but if that's broked...

Sir they are NOT no fire zones, not unless they were fixed in 1.32 and I bet they weren't. I was able to fire my rifle inside and my satchels. I have not tested it in 1.32. I was able to fire my rifle in 1.31 live. And was able to place charges in 1.32 and 1.31. I will confirm my suspicions about 1.32 and guns when beta opens again.

Why all the argument?

They were no fire zones (pre-beta I don't know exactly when they stopped being no fire zones) and they will be again. The fact that they are, at any point in time, not functioning as a no fire zone is a bug. It appears, until now to me at least ... an unreported bug!

End of story.

Why all the argument?

Miscommunication between testers and coders, I guess. This seems to be difficult enough when both are in the same room, but if the two are on different continents and may even speak different languages things can get a bit out of control sometimes :)

K. We're all on the same page now. They were no fire zones. They are not no fire zones now. They will be no fire zones in the future. FB INF are easy to enter and it doesn't matter because of the previous sentence.

PS: get bigger feelings ;)

I can;t remember if there was a problem with that getting implemented but I don;t think so. Lemme look for the ticket...

nope #3182 indicates INF FB Spawns working as intended.

I remember testing this in beta just before release of 1.31 and it was working... someone goofed on the live version :P
