Incremental patching not working for me

I had v1.31.0.08 and the system recognized I needed .10 so it downloaded .08-.09 and installed it. I got this error message (I'm not sure of the playarc number until 10 because I didn't copy the error message down until then):

The file

C:PROGRA~2\CRS\BATTLE~1\playarc??ww2

is not a valid version and could not be upgraded.

I tried to login to the beta server again. This time it downloaded .09-.10 and installed it. I got a similar error message:

The file

C:PROGRA~2\CRS\BATTLE~1\playarc??ww2

is not a valid version and could not be upgraded.

I logged into the beta server unaware that I was actually running .08 and the server was running .10. I played around and test things. Testing was confusing as I had the ifp with the v notch and others didn't. Play was great as I had the v notch and others didn't. :D

The next day (today 10/7), reading the test forum I discovered that .10 was probably the current version. I logged in on beta with .08 still. And talked to some folks and discovered the difference in versions. I posted my experience, downloaded the full .10 beta and uninstalled/reinstalled.

I wound up staying in the beta server as .11 was released and missed it. I stayed in for a bit after discovering the difference. However, when I patched I got the same message and am still running .10:

The file

C:PROGRA~2\CRS\BATTLE~1\playarc10ww2

is not a valid version and could not be upgraded.

wtf am I stuck with full installs from now on?

That's the message you get when the diff function detects an incorrect or corrupt archive ("playarc") while determining which patch you need (on the basis of which one you already have) and in those cases, the only solution is a full install.

Works exactly that way in house too, and we have all had to do the full install from time to time, even when an incremental patch exists.

Luck of the draw.

Don't feel bad, deleting a previous version and doing a full install often improves things you weren't even aware of, especially if you defrag your drive after you delete the old version.

I've deleted and full installed twice in a row now. By your description that's improbable but not impossible. I'm looking forward to the next beta patch. I wanna see if incremental works or not. I'ma defrag C: if it doesn't. And post post post! :D

Thanks for the idea. I looked. I couldn't find any patches in there. I looked in the BE test folder in my documents too. I just reread my earlier post. I didn't delete. I uninstalled. I bet that could make a difference..

He posted an hour ago but the .12 full for PC is a broken link .12 full for Mac works and there's no sign of .13. I guess I'll try to delete install from the version I have and see if that helps.

Without .12 or .13 full we're screwed. It wouldn't patch from .11 for me. Oh well I think I'ma go play my guitar instead.

New .12s just going across. Give them a minute. (The full takes an hour to upload and the patch takes an hour to build so that's where I've been).

I'm building .13's now and will have them up in.... bout an hour.
