Bailout looks good but has a bug?

I hope you are right. Can you think of any reason why bailout above a certain alt would be ... prohibited? I defer to your knowledge of all things flighty on this. ;)

no... insanely higher altitudes your pilot might/probably would passout due to lack of oxygen before he could open his chute..

but then he should just die

there is no sensible reason to limit it to such a low alt

if it was done due to some game limitation then all of this has been a massive waste of time

my conclusion is that it has to be a bug

And the animation for that would be absolutely priceless.

This IS a bug!

I guess everyone was too lazy to climb to >9000ft to test BO :(

Get off the deck n00bs.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Hope thats fixed, will suck if you need to stay in a burning crate until below 9000 feet. *ok.... wait for it,, wait for it... BOOM... ****.*

It's definitely more immersive. My pilot was hit in a fw190 yesterday, instead of staring at that stupid window for 10 secs then disappearing I saw my parachute. It's almost competely superficial but it's a good touch.

That is a bug, there is no altitude limit on bailing out above the minimum altitude of 180m AGL. We know what causes it.

Nice seeing parachutes floating around. But it doesn't seem to work for me. I was at 8 to 10k feet in a Spit and wanted to try it out but I just got the usual despawn timer and then was taken out to the AAR screen.

Has the way it works changed since the post on the main website?

I was undamaged and not engaged - no enemy I could see in the area and AWS was blank. Not sure if they are relevant factors.

The check was failing if you were too high and it couldn't find the ground. Should be fixed in 1.32.1.255 which is going live in a few minutes.

Seems fixed for me.

Tested it in game and the bug looks fixed.

I bailed at 20 thousand feet and was insta-despawned after the bailout animation and a very brief view of my toon in his chute. I kind of expected to ride down to the ground or until the plane crashed but that just may be my not understanding the design.
