Killing ei without being killed yourself??

Here is the situation, (one of many):

  • I was in aim mode
  • location back closet, 1st floor of CP and capping it.
  • rifleman comes in and I unload on him, got him many times :)
  • He raises his rifle some and kills me. Didnt even get the gun in my direction or fully turn in to me. WTF

With simular situations, I get killed too.

  • top floor of CP
  • eLMG comes up stairs, I unload on him.
  • He lies down and proceeds to kill me.

How is it that you are hitting him 1st, many times, the enemy can kill you too??

Is there a bug? My FPS is 35 at that time, got cable connection, . Is this some kind of cheat?

Doesn't make sense to me at all.

And I suspect this thing will carry over to other areas of game also.

Please explain? If possible, can we get a RAT to comment on this, too.

I am trying to get some answers here. Lets limit the bashing. It is an honest request for information.

Could try support or bug reporting forum. I am aware of a bug where I don't see EI until after being killed, but that isn't what you've described. In your case, you see the EI and are able to at least shoot. Sounds like a lag somewhere, not necessarily on your end. In my case, I never see him so I rarely have a fighting chance. I've resorted to guarding a cp by being outside somewhere. It seems to help.

Edit: hehe NM I see it was moved to bug forum. You'll get more replies here I'm sure.

Same thing with vehicles.

See an ET turret pointing away from you, start a sprint, see him fire 45 degrees away from you and you die lol.

Don't you see the pattern?

Analyze the events, discover what you did vs. what he did and think how you can act different and use it to your advantage when defending.

Hint: It got something to do with not moving vs. running around.

I was stationary and he was coming up the stairs. So, do I need to run around to get the kill? What?

If you're still he gets the upper hand because from his point of view he comes in, sees you , fires .. all that happens before you get the data from his client and see him so you can fire.

That's lag.. there's a looong thread about it already.

You can cap or guard and still kill enemies but you have to move around, as soon as you just stand still you're at a disadvantage because of network lag.

I can give an example. I managed to defend a flag the other night with only a rifle this way. When I heard an enemy entered I started moving around facing the place I knew he would eventually appear. That way I had the upper hand, even against smg's and lmg's. I killed 5 enemies like this before one that was thinking the same way finally got me.

Yeah that's about it.

Running around will greatly increase your chance of NOT getting hit.

You either wait for audio of ei footsteps and rush out and meet him or you wait outside and watch him enter and then you run in after him.

When waiting for ei inside a depot it seems like the best you can hope for is a simul-kill when both of you are killed by eachother.

It's internet and network latency.

Let's not forget the infantry movemnet smoothing game code!

romz you['re] my damn hero

Ya know, at first Romsburg, you rubbed me the wrong way and I wasn't a fan. But over the past 12 months, you have really grown on me. You're precise, well spoken and although you are sometimes a little harsh, you are most often correct and in proper context with your responses.

If you're going to argue with Romz, do your homework before you post. He gets it, and you can't teach common sense, you have to be born with it.

I can't say [any]thing else [than] that the ban was justified considering that you have an 'impressive' TOS history....
