I get to log on twice, reminds me of the good old days with my laptop, when I stared at the Halftrack spawn in screen for 5 minutes and it took 10 minutes to log into the game.

Every time I CTD I have to go through this The game dosnt seem to know you left so you log on to being locked out to log off normally and log back in. It is a real pain in the arse.

I find that after you CTD, log on again and then Alt-F4 once the red bar passes 'connecting to chat' then just log on again and all is well.

No it's simpler than that. You are actually logged in to SEVERAL servers when you log into the game host, as the "host" is a server farm with multiple servers each doing it's part of the whole. It can't be run on a single server.

When you get a CTD or any form of sudded disconnect, you are not passed through the "clean up" process that actually logs you out of all the server processes required to make this complex game system work, because that process cannot run if you suddenly dissappear rather then initiate "logging out" via the regular exit proceedure.

We do have a "oh you dissappeared" clean up process that will log you out of all the server processes you are logged into when you are in the game in the event you "dissappear suddenly and out of sequence" but due to the nature of the process itself, it cannot do this instantly, or it wouldn't be able to clean up all the other processes.

So when you CTD, or lose connection, whatever ... all you have to do is wait a few minutes and you won't be locked out when you try to log back in. The lockout is a sign you are "still logged in" to at least one of multiple processes that we cannot dump unless we know you left, and a CTD cannot tell the host that you left, because a CTD cannot start that process in the same manner that you do when you select "exit" and initiate a log out normally.

ie: you tried to get back in too quickly. Wait a few minutes. It's annoying but it can't be helped.

It's a pain in the *** alright. What happened here really is that we traded the CTHL after CTD (FIXED!) for letting you log in but seeing your personas locked.

Why this isn't an easy fix is utterly beyond me. I mean it's just some damn code right?

i promise to go down to KFSONE office and remind him the sheer frustration that this causes and while I'm there I have an entirely new delusional method for a fix that I can suggest.
