Are shermans suppose to be immune in front armor?

They aren't immune. They have the correct thickness of armour (data has been verified as correct) and with that checked, there remains to be stated what projectile is hitting them and from what angle and range. All of the projectiles you listed in this report are performing as intended. They all penetrate test plates at 0 degrees and range according to the data we use to calibrate all our weapons.

Shermans BTW, were not terribly bad frontally, and performed much like the mid war German tanks in general. Shermans also had better side and rear armour than mid war German tanks, unless you're talking about Tigers and 1 or 2 earlier models (the PzKw.IIIh for example) that had extra rear armour.

A Shermans weakness was generally the side (flank shots) and the turret if impacted outside the gun mantlet area. Much like the mid war German panzers in fact.

Naturally, since I am generalizing ... we aren't talking specific cases. If we did, there is a number of parameters to take into account and quite a bit of variety that most anecdotal accounts do not consider.

Closing this because it isn't a bug.

In the highest traditions of the Great MO:

Yes. As was seen during the cold war, the Sherman tank, in addition to being able to cross the Atlantic undersea, was capable of withstanding extreme duress.

In his book "Bubba You Ain't Gonna Bulee Dis!" General Giles "Tubby" Boudreaux remarked on his incredible experiences at Bikini Atoll.

Said the General, "We dun sealed ole Mrs. Magilicutty up in this here tank and decided that since she was such a rawtun olw bag we wus gunna drop dat A bomb right on her head. Dat ole Chief Magillicutty was sum mad when he dun realized that she wut lived!"

The legend of the Sherman was thus after rooted in that annals of military minds across time and space.

...

Sorry, having a weird day. But I'll go blow a few up just for a look see. I'll use the tiger from 1km frontally. If I've anything to report I'll be back.
