Ground Vehicle Blackout Issues #4785

Is this working as intended? You cannot drive a bedford OR a morris through our own towns without blacking out, unless you stay ONLY on the road which defeats the entire purpose.

Is there any knowledge of this? Is it broken? Is it impossible to fix? Any answer would be great!

this happens also on opel and other terrains. the only way to avoid those blackouts is not to drive any multiple of the 45° angle

(not straight N, E .. NE, SE etc.). it seems it is a property of the terrain, when driving over the vehicles start to roll at such rate

that blackouts occur.

so long slpr

I know that the British are an afterthought in this game anymore but the little supply we get to work with is getting to be an impossible task when it come to our very trucks

Driving the trucks EVEN on pavement makes us go BLACK SCREEN like we just pulled 20 gs in on a flat road just by driving on it

Please fix it the british are allready the red headed step child of the game do we need to further punish them by not fixing this ?

This was a common complaint in the real war.

The beddy bounced so badly even on smooth pavement, causing the driver to hit the ceiling, and also causing so much trauma to the jaw that many English beddy drivers who returned home after the war were unrecognized by loved ones due to their teeth being straight.

Making stuff up again.

I am looking at a beddy driver's manual here and it clearly states that an unladen european beddy's wings can withstand 21 Gs.

If I knew anything about how to work a computer thingy I would post images, but I am posting this from my telegraph.

Roger Ram Jet: Blackout Beddy Lyrics

whoa, blackout beddy (bam-A-lam)

whoa, blackout beddy (bam-A-lam)

Spawned a blackout beddy (bam-A-lam)

The damn thing gone crazy (bam-A-lam)

I'm shak'n outta my mind (bam-A-lam)

I think I am going blind (bam-A-lam)

I said, oh blackout beddy (bam-A-lam)

whoa, blackout beddy (bam-BA-lam)

be patient...

we axis opel drivers have this problems for years already

For the exact same amount of time as the beddy has had it. Take them side-glasses off.

We're gonna take another look at this. While on the one hand driving 30mph off road in a Bedford across a farm field is on the far side of believable... The way it is accumulating over time may not be quite right.

I'll ask Chris to take a look.

On the reverse side it doesn't appear to be knocking you out when you go super fast over some really bumpy stuff.

I don;t think we'll worry about the truck stuff right now (speed offroad hello!!) as this doesn't appear to be a bug there but a change as a result of the blackout changes in 1.31.

Testing results:

After extended top speed runs over open farmland (+5 minutes) the Bedford driver will have quick flashes of red and black that ultimately result in a momentary balckout (30-60 seconds).

When he comes to he can repeat this.

This seems counter to the old way where if you were going too fast over rough terrain then you got constant effects playing based on the immediate results and it was not based over time/accumulative.

the blackout bug is a really big problem for the bedford driver . you can have it even at slow speed off road .

the Laffly is far less subject to this bug .

I've never once blacked out in a laffly. I used to think it was the driver smacking his head on the roof of the truck but the Wacky laffly doesn't have blackouts either.

Try a large town. Drive on the grey cobbles or whatever they are. Driver gets knocked out in 10-20 seconds of driving. If you have a load of infantry trying to get a ride to recap, you cannot stop every few seconds.

Edit: If I can find a suitable town to do so, I will fraps this.
