The engine bug can get yah in any vehicle it usual more common and more WTF=§/=%/=P%/ in stug cuz of you have no turret in stug so have too start engine more often and cant fight anymore when engine bug gets yah cuz also of no turret. (except someone drive straight up in front of yah;)

i had it even 1x in a TIGER ... VERY DEPRESSING !!

Then it's not modelled correctly. Should happen every other time we spawn one.

Somebody wrote once that it had something to do with changing crew positions and activating stuff really fast...

Position 1 - press E key

Position 2 - press O key

Position 3 - press Z key

Position 1 - wait for engine...wait...wait...wait

I've had the engine bug a few times and lately have tried to slow down the regular StugG spawning ritual above, and have not had it since... maybe luck, I dunno, but if it helps someone not getting this bug.

I almost caught it this week but wasn't running a debug version. Naturally I've played debug since then and never could get it again. I think nobipure is on to something but the exactly trigger is still not obvious. It's some set of things you do that leave the engine unstartable. Starting the engine has two overlayed sounds and only one was playing as if it got part of the way and then got stuck.

I've said the same thing as I'm going to say now, for over 5 years.

There are loops and cycles and processes you begin and end with key presses.

If you stack them on top of each other really quickly, faster than they can complete in game update cycles, you may have issues.

Stuff like spawn in change positions press control key and then slam another on top of that, all wham wham wham ... this may cause issues.

If you do everything in a methodical, let each action have a moment to "breathe" before the next action fasion ... the issues tend to go away.

So next time you start your engine in a vehicle, or stop it, slow down and be methodical.

For example:

1) Spawn in

2) Wait a moment

3) Start engine

4) Wait for the start cycle to finish before selecting a gear (you have to anyway because until your engine starts, which is not a fixed time scale but can vary from one instance to the next) ... after the engine is actually idling THEN select your gear (doing it earlier won't make any differance anyway and might cause the bug !)

5) When switching your engine off, let it actually switch off before restarting it, then do not rush your gear selection or "keep mashing E for the engine to start sooner" because it won't start sooner

Basically, button mashing doesn't make things happen sooner or quicker and DOES cause other issues.

Actually if you could find a combo of things that always results in the bug, please let us know! Much harder to fix a bug you can't reproduce on cue.
