Aircraft insta-splode, no kill for the attacker

Back from a WW2OL break and it looks like this bug is still going strong.

The basic scenario goes like this:

1. One plane shoots at another.

2. After one to several hits, the victim plane explodes completely, immediately rendering to the highest possible damage state (same flaming hulk as when you dive into the ground, for example)

3. From the victim's perspective, you're immediately kicked to the external view (again, same as a terrain collision)

4. The mission is recorded as a RES for the victim with no critical damage, and the attacker is not credited with a kill.

I believe I saw it twice in the past two days, once when I was the attacker vs. a bf110, and once when I was the victim flying an H87. My H87 sortie is here: http://csr.wwiionline.com/scripts/services/persona/sortie.jsp?sid=1823984&pid=112207

It's extremely common for this to happen to me flying H87s. It's less common in other French planes and I don't believe it's ever happened while I was flying RAF. Apparently it also happens with the 110. Not really sure about other LW planes.

Happens when killing armour too.

1 shot kills (4G's especially) render the attacker with no kill.

I believe it has to do with the damage engine recording the killer as the explosion as opposed to the player.

Hopefully it is on their list to do.

We are still working on this aspect of the games code, and it still isn't doing what we want it to. So we keep working on it. ;)
