1.32 Server restart procedure

one could add that each time after a server restart, maintanace for example, all brigades conduct an overrun leading to no valid fallbacks.

annoying in any case but especially when there's an air or para unit at an frontline af. with a valid fallback before the restart, they got none

afterwards. you can't rotate fresh supply in due to the frontline rules. the only thing there is, to do a fallback once the af is threatened to

be captured, or by not taking chances and move them out immediately. this affects the gameplay and should not happen.

Start a new thread for this please. I do not understand.

wiretap hcmoves from the last maintenance server restart, happens always right before the server opens to the public again.

ingame it will get shown as an OVERRUN. in the result none of those brigades have a valid fallback when the server reopens,

with all the consequences mentioned in the OP.

This came up a few times just after 1.31

I remember axis getting a flag routed from andenne(i think) 2 days into a campaign because it had not been moved from the start so there was no fallback when the town was capped.

Happened 2-3 times last campaign .. axis would capture towns and an AF became frontline.. then due to the many server restarts the air brigades would have no fallback and we would have to risk getting em routed or having to move em out.

The host cannot "remember" HC moves (where a brigade was) after a restart. We have to rewrite how things are done for this to be possible and it's on the immediate development list, we were talking about it just yesterday.

As things stand now, if the host is restarted, all that data gets zero'd out and we cannot prevent this if there is a restart. All we can do is try to avoid restarts that are unplanned, and generally this is something we are always trying to improve on. Our uptime is actually pretty good, considering we only bring them down once a week for regular maintenance, a lot of game servers come down every day.
