Bad stuttering when opening map

When flying I generally get around 100fps but opening the map very often causes everything to stutter. The map also normally has lots of white blotches and takes ages to catch up when I move it.

The white blotches I've had with other versions but never had the stutters so bad before.

Are you getting any memory crashes? What's your ram and OS?

I have 4GB of RAM running windows 7. The stuttering seems to have stopped but still getting large areas of the map which is normally whited out or blacked out. Eventually they tend to go but just means it takes a while to look at info on the map which is mildly annoying but I can live with it.
