Flying over water

I dont know if this has been looked at?, but when flying over water the surface turns black as you change views, it gives you no depth perception, ive heard other pilots complain of the same thing, is this a video driver issue or something bigger?

actually this has been happeneing to me too latley, water flashes black quite a bit.

Yes with shaders off here gophur

Yup shaders off.

Gunsight view at certain angles will make the water turn black. Can't tell if you are about to hit the water or not.

Also in wide view, while looking around with TrackIR, at certain angles the lighting on the water changes from shiny to dull. Probably related.

Check Jammy's vids in the pearl harbor event thread. I think it has some examples in it...Least it has the water going light to dark.
