Mission Results

I was at an eFB (Axis). Came with a Daimler. There were at the FB a et and one ei. Had one inf inb (sapper) and me. So, not much here to kill FPS.

My Daimler killed the et and I was taken out by an LMG in my ARMOURED CAR. (Which is another wrong), but I digress. After I died, I got Mission results bug.

Is this the one?

Don't worry. Our 232s and the frenchie panhards can all be taken out with small arms...

At least the DAC is ninja stealthy, has like twice the turret armor thickness of the 232 and a gun that can kill most our panzers if used properly.

Still, there are some weak spots on it.

If you want to swap the DAC (or panhard) for the 232 I'd be happy to :)

Anyway, it is "normal".

The big thing is, the armour on the cars is at least .5" to 1.3".

Some of the regular tanks start with same thickness as the amoured car.

So they should be able to be taken out by the LMG too.

As I recall the LMG, RIFLE and SMG DO NOT HAVE ARMOUR PIERCING ROUNDS.

All these can kill the A-Car. The ATG does and is designed to do this and it has a harder time to kill.

I just read in a book today about the armour we are using and the thicknesses.

Either beef up the kill model on the a-cars or de-beef some of the tanks that have the same begining thicknesses as the cars.

I will send you the stats for this, by email to CRS soon.

Possibly this internet source is inaccurate, but from what I can see the armor on the DAC is only 0.39 inches (10mm) on the hull sides.

I don't know how much armor a 7.92mm round from an MG34 can penetrate but at point blank it sure does seem like 10mm is possible.

I don't know what round is used or how much it can penetrate either. I'm sure the penetration power of rifles and MG34 has been discussed before but I am too lazy to search the forums for it since all the good keywords are too short :)

I have a faint recollection of ammunition being modelled as "AP" due to limitations in the simulation engine, but I might be wrong there. But exactly what "AP" means in this case I don't know as I guess there were a lot of different rounds.

Also, are you sure you didn't have the ginormous windows open? ;)

I notice that says the DAC has a Telescope, Periscope and Episcope.

Does this mean the DAC driver should actually be able to see where he's going without opening a hatch big enough for an elephant to crawl into?

Yes was a nice video on youtube shoving the different view options

But the suspension is still crap in the DAC's maybe that is why the DAC commander is unuseable when driving.

Things that never will be fixed the high center of gravity on the pan and 232.

The missing torque in reverse on Pan and 232

Missing armoured window in DAC

Oh yeah missing periscope amd episcopes in T38

BTW would appriciate that Pak36 screen shot you promised

Cheers

Tomorrow my dear chap, tomorrow.

Today is my last day round the (now ex) missus house. So off to my room on camp for a few days with no one to distract me from a bit of mindless WWIIOL violence and then off to see a "friend" for new year :)
