Mouse sensitivity extreme on rare occasion

Description:

First person mouse sensitivity is waaaay jacked up. I touch the mouse a bit and I stare at the ceiling or turn 180 degrees. In-game mouse pointer speed is NORMAL speed and so is the windows mouse pointer speed. It is only when I run around as infantry and control my movements with the mouse (only tried infantry) that I have seen this sensitivity.

So I assume it is not a windows problem since the windows pointer AND in-game pointer (in UI) is working just as usual.

Restarting the game does NOT fix it.

Rebooting windows DOES fix it.

I think I've seen this at most 3-4 times in the last 4 months or so, so it's very rare.

I THINK I have only seen it when I have played, shut down game, left computer on, come back later and start the game again. Perhaps I have also had TS3+fraps+TrackIR software running. I had it last time but I can't swear I've always had it when I've seen the bug. However I usually start those three (always TrackIR and almost always fraps) before launching the game.

So, fix by rebooting windows seems to indicate driver related problem, but everything is working fine with the mouse pointer sensitivity, like I said. It's only moving view with the mouse in the game that has hyper sensitivity.

I tried nudging the sensitivity setting in the game (to see if the setting needed to be refreshed) but it made no difference.

I am using Windows XP 32-bit SP3 and Logitech MX518 mouse without Logitech bloatware.

Possibly some of the other programs (TS3,fraps,TrackIR) are interfering with the mouse input and the mouse input is read differently in the GUI and windows compared to in game movement control? (DirectX vs other Windows mouse event input?)

Very weird bug.

I think Ive seen this. I always put it down to bad mouse function but you may be right and it is game related.

If you get any thing to go on, let me know.
