ATG death-trigger - tanks vs ATGs

Town: Oostmalle

Stug IIIG - 650M NW of N AB.

M1 ATG comes out of AB veh spawn........immediately put 3 rounds of HE into him, yes, I know the distance exactly and can see the HE hitting him. ATG still alive, deploys and begins firing at me though bush. I still have his range few more HE into him and he keeps firing, so I put AP into him.

I die to ATG, but in my AAR he is ded, should be ded and should not have killed me:-

I cannot express enough how much the invincibility of ATG's wears thin on this tanker. Dying to death trigger iis infuriating.......I cannot do it in my tank, so I expect an ATG that has been killed to die. In reality the crew members of that ATG should be splattered into pulp, but my tanking experience just proves to be so annoying.

The tanking side of the game is very frustrating IMO and has deteriorated due to sillyness like this.

Please......do something about it, before I lose the will to bother loggin in at all to play.

I usually use both AP and HE rounds. AP works the best, for ATGs. Is it still true that HE rounds don't really work like they should? Anyhow, I think the best fix would be some sort of rag-doll for the ATG members. At least I'd like to know if the gunner or commander is dead. Slumped over position is all we'd need.

But be careful in saying that ATGs are invincible. They die quite easily too!

Afaik you get the kill even if you shot just one crew member, i.e. the commander. So the ATG can shoot you even if you got the kill.

And yes, the HE rounds don't work like they should. IMO they don't work at all, I found AP rounds better for fighting both infantry and ATGs. HEs work only on bedfrods and that's only when you hit the driver right between the eyes :P.

hmm HE is way better for soft targets than AP.

but yeah, Im sick of firing shells into ATGs and seeing them survive... I see it often and I dont tank often at all.

Frustration and dissatisfaction understood, but this requires a new and different modeling approach to change how ATGs and HE behave.

ie: it's not a bug and this is a bug reporting forum
