CRS, what do you doing now with trial account after its expiration ?

I ask because I suppose some guys creating new trial account as soon as existed trial account expired.

1. I well remember in old times, 5 years ago when I began to play, within dedicated 14 day I can play only 3 or 4 evenings indeed (2-3 hours in each).

It is not enough time to estimate this game and make good decision - will be you play in future or not.

Especially take into consideration fact that I played in TZ3 and when I login in the game after work, battlefield was mostly empty, more empty then now (less peoples, no AO limitation).

So I think trial account should work 1 month.

It is 3-4 full weekends with good population on the server. This is reasonable time for adult and full-time worked player to estimate the game and make decision - good game for him or not. Especialy if he can play only on weekends.

2. On the other hand, yesterday one guy said to me - he planing open next trial as soon as existed expired. It is unfair and I indignant.:mad:

What do you doing now with not prolonged trial accounts ? Do you keep its in the player base ?

I don't care about database size, I worry that a lot of good ingame nicks can be blocked.

My opinion: player who used credit card to get trial - he well proved that truly need estimate game and should get 1 month trial.

Other players should get only 14 day trial, and after this period (plus 1-2 month) their stat should be removed from data base, and their ingame nickname should be avaible again for new players.

And may be good idea make to him limited numbers of free accounts, with limitation listed here:

http://forums.wwiionline.com/showthread.php?t=302600

anyway I suspect some part of them register accounts, one by one, every 2 weeks.

Currently from what i can make out, players get a 14 day trial, unlimited access, then after the 14 day period, they can continue play as Rifle, SMG only, basically its a free account with limitations. Also stats are not recorded for these trial accounts.

Why do they get SMG's?

If it is free then only rifle.

Can they drive anything?

Then only a truck or tractor.

Can they fly?

Then only para planes.

Can they use a boat?

Then only cargo ship.

All personas are locked except army on extended freeplay. After the inital 14 day trial they gotta sub to unlock air and navy.

We're monitoring the numbers right now. Consider this a soft launch.

Once the third person re-do is complete and we feel confident a free play account will be a success, we can best decide if we want this to replace the 14 day free trial.

Any chance you can block trail accounts from joining the opposite side when matching IP number is detected. Especially when a premium account is being used with the trial account.

  • Free Play Account

In my humble opinion, I think a free play account should not only include limitations on rank, usable units and no CSR following but also it would be wise to consider time limitations, for example, cap the amount of time a trial account might be able to play per day.

I don't know what would be a fair time limitation, but let's say 2 hours a day ( which can easily be racked up by the majority of wwiionline's current PB)

I actually really like the idea of the free play account, it would, in turn with the 3rp update bring a lot more players to the game.

However, I think the manner in which it should be approached should push the player more and more to subscribe. In adding a time cap, in unison with the current limitations I think this would work quite nicely.

In regards to one user, using two accounts, a trial account for towing and such, I believe it would be beneficial to include a system where the two wwiionline applications may have some way of communicating with each other and will terminate should someone spawn an account on either side, to eliminate "spies" etc

Just my thoughts, but the current system isn't the worst thing in the world.

Wonder if locking to a side has been mentioned.

After the 14 day trial you would have to commit to a side for the duration of the free account.

Again just kick'in out there.

gl and lets hope it draws plenty of new targets, paying targets :)

We did discuss many parameters including side lock. However, since we really want these new/trial players to join a squad, locking them to a side would not be a great idea.
