Copy Paste Keyboard Confusion Bug

Not too sure how much of a bug this is, but its a pain at times... Searching the forums for Copy Paste Bug Glitch did not come up with any other results.

I have noticed (and some other players too) that when playing BGE and only BGE, pressing V will sometimes paste your last copied thing into the chatbox, while at times pressing c will cause nothing to show up because your computer believes you are trying to copy something.

As you might guess, this can lead to some embarrassment if you are not aware of it. I have a Logitech Wireless Keyboard and this occurs.

It almost seems like BGE is sending a signal that the ctrl key is pressed when it isn't? I'm not really sure.

I can get a video of it if you would like.

You can copy past text by:

1. Pressing left shift and insert.

2. Pressing the right alt, then next time you press V it pastes the text.

Always the joker Mons. Imagine typing Stavelot, but when you press v all on it's own it pastes whatever you had copied, not hitting alt, ctrl or anything else. So instead of Stavelot it's Stawww.google.com/blejau/hdufjehelot.

I love the v-paste bug, plenty of strange stuff that has been posted in chat because of it. Like the infamous link to a site about giving better cunnilingus right in the middle of a report about enemy movement.

I particularly enjoyed a certain member of AHC pasting a letter of complaint to some company, big LOLs there :D

I wish I could replicate this damn bug. I'll bring it up at the coders meeting this week and see if anyone has any ideas.

Didn't we go through that already?

Try

"left ctrl +left alt" followed by a later v

or

"Right Alt + Right Ctrl + TAB" followed by a later v

Looking at it, yea, this makes sense. It seems like it's just an accidental thing though built into Windows. The only issue is that it appears to be random.

Back then when I tested it it was not random. It only appeared random when you didn't know the right key combo. When you find out the correct keys it works 100% of the time.

I have built a new system since last thread and I even use a US-style keyboard now without a AltGr key so I just retested:

1. Spawn rifleman offline.

2. Press Left Ctrl and Left Alt at the same time.

3. Press enter to open chat.

4. Type any message. The first time you type "v" it will paste text from clipboard.

Works every time.

I must admit I was caught by this one :D. I was calling some enemy activity on ch10.

"EIs east. We hawww.hairyteengash.come no def frus east!"

It got some laughs. Luckily I didnt visit chickenf**ker.com that day.
