Bedford truck slows to stop on 30' downslope

I spawned a Bedford at the Densborn FB to Gerolstein, which has a very steep slope east of it. I drove over the edge of the slope and started to coast down the hill with my engine off, but the truck slowed and stopped before I got to the bottom. That hill looks like about a 30 degree downslope, so how did a 3 tonne truck not keep rolling?

I confirmed this report. Not sure what that is about. I didn;t test it in 1.32 or earlier to see if it is a recent change.

Do all the trucks do this, or just the Bedford ? I don't see this at all using the Bedford in the v1.32 release client.

Edit: ok just tested this in v1.33 ... it's exactly the same. What you experienced is the fact that, in order to stop the tendancy to slip and slide all over the place (yes we know they do this already, but imagine it if it was even worse ?) there is a lot of drag/traction co-effecient applied to the tire contact patch with the ground.

They will roll down a steep slope with the engine off, but not as fast as gravity might suggest. As the slope reduces in steepness, the ability to roll is reduced also, because we have to have "sticky" tire contact or the vehicles would be way more uncontrollable when turning than they are already.

Not a bug. The game engine just doesn't handle that stuff well enough to "unstick" the tire contact patch. Consider it a compromise we had to make.
