We're having a little event type thing in open beta to draw attention to the new stuff in a fun way to get as many people involved as we can.

Starting at 2:00pm CST (8:00pm GMT) Gophur and I will be moving stuff around, and reconfiguring the play space as required to make this happen. It's beta so be prepared for on the fly requirements broadcast by us and the system making this focus test possible.

2:00pm Target Verdun

We'll be placing opposing air brigades in Montfaucon and Etain. Their target is Verdun. Players will spawn into airborne infantry missions at each of those towns airfields and in all liklihood Gophur and I will be your pilots. Other pilot type players are more than welcomr to join us in helping create an air armada of paratroops over Verdun.

There will be no other infantry activity during this phase of the test, it's all about the paratroopers. We ask that pilot orientated players do not shoot down the transport aircraft even though they are easy to shoot down.

After suffcient time has expired at this phase of the event (unknown) Gophur and I will start placing ground brigades on each side of Verdun to enable the other infantry to come under the scrutiny of you all as part of focus testing.

We don't know eactly when this will happen, probably 30 to 45 minutes in, but we'll know when we're there.

Objective as far as gameplay goes is simply enough, someone has to own Verdun at the end of the test. Who will it be ?

We need you all to help us find bugs. We are undertaking an enormous amount of redmodeling and even a fair amount of new code to bring this extensive update to the games look and feel, and we need you all to have fun with it, but more than that to help us find all the problems before we get to release.

Please take note of any system messages asking for compliance on any aspect of testing in order to get that testing completed, and also for you guys to have a fun time doing it.

After we have had sufficient "not shoot down transport planes" time to get the tasks of paradropping at Verdun completed, the "air guys" will be cleared for general whatever, but be aware that "air play" is not a part of this focus testing at all, and we'd prefer you all focus on the infantry stuff we must get completed.

Of special attention would be SOUND ISSUES that may have surfaced as a result of our new sound modeling. So far the improvemenst to sound modeling have been great but as with any new system it has to be fully wrung out in proper road testing to identify things that might have gone un-noticed in other testing of other features.

That's because the server started accepting .10 logons while you were uninstalling.

Server will let you in now after installing the .9 to .10 patch.
