Still HE as AP?

Hi RATS, i really enjoy the game, but i must say that HE are useless actually in 1.32.....their explosions never kill or wound the nearby infantry (how it should be) and you need to hit perfectly the soldiers to kill them (as for the AP...).

So, are HEs fixed in 1.33 or not?

Thank you ;)

we haven't changed any HE explosions WRT shrapnel/bursting concussion effects, to be accurate language wise they aren't broken so fixing them is not on our current dev. schedule

with the exception of bombs and mortar rounds, most HE in the game had a very small "kill radius" even though people expect them to be much larger, because TV/Hollywood makes them huge explosions when in reality they were not very large at all until you get above the 4 to 5 inch class of HE round

Grenades and 20mm-70mm tank fired HE was not a very signifigant HE burst at all. Some 75mm and 88mm was dangerous not immediately adjacent to the explsion (most of the effect other than shrapnel itself was the stuff it displaced/destroyed like masonry, brickwork etc. which we cannot model right now) but the range of the shrapnel/burst was not very big. Remember, the HE rounds that tanks and ATGs are firing are not big artillery rounds.

Bombs kill you quite easily some distance away in game, like 50 and more meters, and bursting HE rounds can (if you are unlucly) kill you at ranges of 5 meters and more, but again, the perentages are low and in real life they were very low too.

Since this isn't a bug and that's what we're focussing on here, we won't be acting on this at the current juncture.
