The despawn timer is not active for the first mission during a session, i.e. it is set to zero. For any other mission afterwards it works as intended, i.e it is 10s.

Unable to replicate. Need specific situation. (Is it only if you are in a barrackes at despawn &c.).

Test 1

  • launch live online
  • select persona
  • select brigade
  • select mission (not create)
  • select unit
  • spawn (mobile spawn)
  • hit [esc] to despawn
  • see 10 second countdown

Expected functionality.

It might be OS specific. I am on a MAC OS Snow Leopard and I noticed it too.

For instance I launch live online. Independent of the mission I pick or brigade (mostly I play air) the first time I despawn there will be NO TIMER. After that everything turns back to normal. If you need any other details about my system let me know. Perhaps other MAC players could confirm ?

I have noticed something similar to this also (and on mac). I thought it was just specific to if in a CP (i.e. 0 countdown timer), but then I've been in a CP and the timer did work. I never realized it was first mission, now that I know that I will see if that is the case for me.

Oh, and instead of a de spawn timer at all, how come when you die you don't just get a black screen of death then instantly back to flag screen?

Would save game time and not allow the dead person to see where you were shooting from and come back and kill you, I always lose my good spots due to them seeing where I shoot them from, don't like that at all.

For me it happens 100% of the time. All the others that confirmed are on a MAC. Gophur was not able to replicate it on PC. So i believe it has alot to do with OS. Unless all the Win Users out there just did not notice it yet...

The timer value comes from the host so it should be same for both platforms. However it could be some random memory somewhere makes it work incorrectly on mac. I'm taking a look.

Found it and reported to Ramp for fixing. Could happen on either platform as the involved memory location was random. Apparently it is luckily correct most of the time but not always.

Hmm, maybe leave it ZERO, hate wasting time waiting for that countdown timer. I mean, why do you need a timer AFTER you are dead?

What's the Ticket #?
