Can one of the CRS guys please explain the CRITs to me again. I just went head to head with Defiant, YET AGAIN, I pulled up well before him and had no view of him as I went vertical. Bang, I die and he just spins a bit and flies on. NOW HE DID NOT PULL OUT. What is the rule?

I have tried avoiding people only to find 8 times out of 10 I die. I was even flying straight and level at altitude with jg51 and a guy hit me in the side! I didnt even see him as he was probably coming fast from higher alt. I F..KING DIED! According to fellow pilot my 6 he came from high 4 o'clock. NOW HOW IS THAT MY FAULT. He did not die either but had a heavy spin.

Should we all return to ramming and just hope we die once every two tries? Because, that is how I feel I am being forced to fight.

Please give us all some idea because this smacks of some dodgy rules for collision impacts!

What is "dodgy" about it is we can not guarrentee that what you SEE is what you get when planes are close to each other in flight, because the internet won't allow us to do that. You are relying on what you see to be exactly what happened, but once you are within 10 meters of another plane that is not a reliable feedback anymore. If you have a very high closure rate it will be a lot more than 10 meters also. At low to zero closure (flying in formation with the other plane) 10 meters is about as close as the update can be judged to offer.

We can't change it because the internet client to client update cannot be instantaneous and what you need to be 100% reliable and accurate is instantaneous updates, like real life gives us but which computer rendered updates over the internet cannot.

It's time, or more correctly, distance over time. The faster you are travelling in game the more the differance will be, because a half second at 150mph is quite a bit less than a half second at 600 mph, and in a headon situation your closing speed is often 600mph or MORE.

Ok, thanks DOC. I happen to have had a very high proportion of deaths due to collision and I am always aware of keeping my speed high in combat area. High speed alone may explain what I percieve as an unfair ratio of death versus the other guy still able to fly.

Thanks.
