wow misc i just ran to AF in mochen and got right to the AF and instantly ctded lol ....i think it is sound related cause i have noticed the nades and satchel charges sound odd as well ... all that AAA AI on AF is creating alot of sound which causes the ctds i think.

In the game settings, you have your sound set to "primary" or to your actual sound card?

We have 2 fixes in testing right now for the cause of 98% of all CTDs. That won't get rid of them entirely, but it will improve things a lot.

Having said that, you might have the wrong device selected in sound settings and that will screw the pooch no matter what we fix. You need to check that.

Both plantronics dsp500 and gamecom headsets have a dsp chip inline (if you use the usb on the gamecom, it's a either or headset)

With the older dsp500s the game will show them as plantronics headset, gamecom shows as usb audio device speakers ingame and in windows if you go through the usb part (which is a dsp (digital speach processor).

i'm getting CTD's also but only in a place where there is a huge battle.

If i go to a small low pop area does not happen at all.

CTD's will eventually stop with the release of 1.33.1, but unfortuntely Gophur is not entirely giving an exact release date, so we'll see.

it does appear sound related for most so anyone getting them needs to look at how game is setting there sound settings in relation to what there using

in my case i had 2 usb headsets one where i ctded and other game was fine

the headset where i ctded the game set sound to primary... might could of fixed it by switching it to another setting but just plugged the nicer headset in instead to which i noticed game saw it properly and no more odd sounds nor ctds anymore.

I'm pretty much sick of paying $15 a month to test buggy code.

3 to 4 CTD's a night is just about enough for me to throw in the towel.

STOP RELEASING PATCHES THAT ARE BROKEN!

I am not the one to rant so here is a suggestion on the next major upgrade.

It seems an open beta while a campaign is running is never going to attract the numbers it realistically needs to be a viable test.

So as a suggestion instead of unleashing a new patch midway through a campaign, release it in intermission.

That way the numbers are all 'on' and usually , as is with intermission , the action and player numbers are in a small portion of the map and all classes of equipment are utilized.

Its a good 3-4 days of beta testing with a high player number and no harm done to a campaign.

Cheers

it's an excellent idea and we have in fact done this in the past where the schedule allowed

at other times it isn't possible to do this without enormous delays elsewhere (and let's face it, things take too long already if you ask most players) and if no known issues exist there isn't any immediate cause to sit and wait for release

wish it were as simple to do as it is to say it but it never is
